Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Deisy Jurim of Cape Coral Florida

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Deisy Jurim. Check out our conversation below.

Deisy, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is always very active and productive. I’m a mom, so my mornings usually start early taking care of my kids and making sure everything is ready for their day. After that, I focus on my professional projects.

I work as an eyelash extension instructor, and I truly enjoy teaching my students and helping them develop their skills and confidence in the beauty industry. I also do some modeling work, which allows me to express my creativity and stay connected to the fashion and beauty world.

Recently, I started a new business project — a Handyman company in the Cape Coral area — which I’m very excited about. It’s something completely different, but I love learning and managing new opportunities. I handle some of the business operations, customer service, and sales, which keeps me motivated and always moving forward.

My days are busy balancing my family, my classes, modeling, and this new business, but I feel proud to be building a strong future for my children and myself.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Deisy Jurim. I’m a professional esthetician, lash extension instructor, and model. I’ve always been passionate about beauty, confidence, and helping others feel empowered — that’s what inspired me to start teaching. Through my classes, I guide students in developing their skills not only in lash artistry but also in professionalism and customer care.

I also do modeling, which allows me to express creativity and connect with people through fashion and visual storytelling. Each project is an opportunity to grow and share my personality through my work.

Recently, I started a new business venture — a Handyman company in the Cape Coral area — which I run together with my family. It’s a completely different field, but I see it as another way to build something meaningful and create opportunities for growth.

What makes my story unique is that I balance all of this while being a proud mother. My children are my greatest motivation, and everything I do — from teaching and modeling to running a new business — is driven by the desire to build a strong and inspiring future for them.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I used to believe that success was something that only happened to people who already had everything figured out or lived a perfect life. I thought I had to wait for the right moment or the right opportunity to follow my dreams.

But my experience serving in the police in Colombia taught me something completely different. It showed me discipline, courage, and the importance of believing in myself even in difficult or uncertain situations. That experience helped me understand that strength comes from within and that with focus and determination, anything is possible.

Now, I no longer wait for the perfect moment — I create it. I believe in taking action, staying positive, and building the life I want for myself and my family through hard work and faith.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized that my challenges were not something to be ashamed of — they were my strength.

Moving to a new country, starting over, raising my children, and building my career from zero were not easy experiences. But each of those moments taught me resilience, patience, and self-belief. My past, including my time serving in the police in Colombia, gave me discipline and courage — qualities that I now use in everything I do.

Instead of letting pain hold me back, I decided to transform it into motivation. It became the reason why I teach, why I model, and why I keep growing as an entrepreneur. My pain turned into my power — and that’s what keeps me moving forward every day.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
The person I admire most for their character is my father. He was a police officer in Colombia, and growing up, he always set a strong example of integrity, responsibility, and kindness. He taught me the importance of working hard, treating others with respect, and standing up for what is right.

I also admire the family I grew up with. They showed me the value of love, support, and perseverance, even in difficult times. Their guidance and example shaped who I am today, both as a professional and as a mother.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as a woman who never gave up — someone who faced challenges with faith, strength, and a positive spirit.

I want them to say that I inspired others to believe in themselves, to work hard for their dreams, and to never be afraid of starting over. That I was a loving mother who built a better life for her children, and a woman who turned her struggles into success.

Whether through my beauty career, my teaching, modeling, or my business, I hope people see that everything I did came from passion, purpose, and love. That’s the story I want to leave behind.
