Lennette Ramirez of Cape Coral, FL on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Lennette Ramirez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Lennette, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
Ultimately, as a baker, I wake up daily chasing the satisfaction of creating something new, and the joy of sharing my gorgeous and delicious art with the world. The moment I stop chasing that, I lose the whole package which Includes thrill, hope, effort, and the unknown. The thrill of chasing my dream is a rewarding journey because it makes me feel powerful, capable, and completely engaged with my own life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I bake custom cakes and desserts. Although that sounds like I have a small bakery, I am not just a baker; I am a Cake Artist. My process is an elevated experience starting the moment I sketch your vision. I use only top-quality ingredients to craft edible art, ensuring every detail brings your dream vision to life from flavor to stunning aesthetics and luxurious packaging. Our goal is to WOW you the entire step of the way. We specialize in art and taste. I also teach online courses which help you create gorgeous artistic desserts.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Inconsistency, betrayal and poor communication are my top three for the quickest way to break a bond. This goes for friendships, family and in everyday life with my customers. We must remember that this is a two way street. Day to day my goal in communicating with my customer is making sure that they can fully trust me. I do not offer packages or details that benefit me. I always want my customer to come back, so I have to have very clear communication and consistency with my work but most importantly make sure I explain every detail and have those same words that I discussed with them written down in our contract so that my customer always knows that I am always available and they can always come back and double check. If that is broken which can happen since we are all human, and needs to be repaired the key points are re-establishing trust, safety, and a consistent connection. Acknowledging the others feelings as legitimate, even if you disagree

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My biggest fear in life has always been not being seen as good enough in society. This has stalled my process of beginning my business and making outside connections with others. As a child, I always felt like nothing I did would amount to what the person next to me was doing. These days we have the biggest critic on our sides which is social media and that versus the inner critic and trying to be perfect and to people please has to be the biggest poison. To get where I am, which has taken me many year was the through self acceptance, and redefining “enough” on my own terms. If a friend is asking for advice, I would never speak to them the way that I was speaking to myself so I asked myself why I was allowing all of these negative thoughts when 99% of them were untrue. I started to see the positive feedback instead of the negative and when I got to the other side, I realized that I have been a diamond in disguise this entire time and I refused to let more time pass without letting everybody see the amazing person that I am and the talent that I bring to the table.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Coming from a Hispanic background, we express love and hospitality through delicious and wholesome food.
The kitchen is considered the heart of the home. And like in many cultures, something that is a must is a delicious dessert. I am Dominican, and in the dessert world we are known for a delicious moist Dominican cake, which I do specialize in. In my bakery, I have a big selection of delicious melt in your mouth flavors, such as red velvet, carrot cake, chocolate cake and many more, but something I will always keep close to heart and make sure that I always offer is the amazing taste of home is a creamy dulce de leche, guava, coconut and tres leche. Preparing these dishes is a way to maintain a connection to my roots, cultural heritage, and identity.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
As previously mentioned, we live in a world where we want to please others. We want validation from the world and this day in age we want validation from everyone seeing us on social media. Every day I wake up and I give my best, not for everyone else, but for myself. I make sure that I am fed internally, so that all other negativities around me get dimmed. Delayed gratification is a thing. The person knows that excellence in the long run leads to better opportunities, greater security, and larger, more meaningful rewards than a single moment of praise. In my day to day life as a professional cake artist, I get internal joy by waking up and doing what I love. I don’t need anything other than that feeling to keep me grounded.
