Story & Lesson Highlights with jasmine henderson

We’re looking forward to introducing you to jasmine henderson. Check out our conversation below.

jasmine, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My family is the greatest joy in my life; I cherish waking up next to them, exploring new places and adventures together, and returning home after a long day to their loving presence. They are my whole universe.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jasmine, but everyone calls me “J.” I’m a fashion designer originally from Chicago who moved to Dallas. I create custom clothing for clients in the entertainment industry worldwide, from Atlanta to London. I have a lovely two-year-old daughter and a boyfriend who treats me like a princess.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The first time I ever felt truly powerful was when I was around 10 years old; I made clothes for my friends, and they proudly wore them at school and on the block. I would host fashion shows at my house, inviting other kids and their parents to showcase my designs.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Growing up, my parents were very hardworking, but with eight kids, they couldn’t always afford the newest clothes and shoes, so they did their best to provide what they could. I inherited my style from my dad, who always knew how to dress me well, and my mom helped me add a touch of class to my outfits. As a kid, I hated it, but now that I’m a grown woman, I love dressing up in classy attire, especially for work.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
“My closest friends would say that what matters most to me is family, friendship, and creating opportunities for the people I love. Sure, I could chase the spotlight, but I’d rather see us all glow up together.”

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
“If I ever retired, I know my clients would miss not just my work, but the connection we share. I’ve always treated every client like family, because when someone chooses to support your business, they’re not just buying a service — they’re believing in you. And that kind of trust means the world to me
