Cheri Hewan shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Cheri , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity is at the heart of everything I do. I truly believe that doing the right thing in every situation — even when it doesn’t seem to offer an immediate benefit — always pays off in the long run. Leading with honesty and positive energy not only attracts the right outcomes but also helps navigate challenges with clarity and grace.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Cheri Hewan — a passionate Florida Realtor with deep roots in sunny South Florida, though I was born in New York. Helping people find a place to call home is truly what I love most — whether it’s a first-time buyer, a growing family, or someone ready to downsize, I take pride in guiding each client through one of life’s biggest milestones. For me, real estate goes far beyond just buying or selling a home — it’s about building lasting relationships and creating meaningful experiences along the way.
When I’m not working with clients, I’m a proud mom of two amazing kids who keep me busy between soccer games and cheerleading. Family means everything to me, and that same sense of care and commitment is what I bring to every client relationship.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Growing up with a stay-at-home mom taught me two important lessons — deep respect for the dedication that takes, and the realization that my own path would look a little different. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be out in the world — confident, independent, and making things happen (preferably in a blazer and a great pair of heels!).
That entrepreneurial spark started early — in middle school, I ran my own little candy business, buying treats in bulk and selling them individually to classmates for a profit. A year later, I started babysitting for neighbors on the weekends. I discovered how much I loved earning my own money — not just for the freedom it gave me, but for the sense of pride and empowerment that came with it.
That same drive and independence fuel my passion for real estate today. I love helping others achieve their goals, take bold steps, and find a place that truly feels like home — all while building lasting relationships along the way.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are the bomb, girl — and you can do anything you set your heart to. Growing up in a Caribbean household taught me strength, discipline, and love in its own unique way. While affection and verbal reassurance weren’t always expressed openly, I always knew I was loved. Still, as I grew older and stepped out into the world, I realized that building my own confidence would be part of my journey.
It took courage, self-reflection, and a lot of trial and error, but through it all I learned how to believe in myself fully. Today, I stand confident, proud, and ready to take on the world — not just for myself, but to inspire others to do the same.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
There’s only one version of me — what you see is exactly what you get. I’ve always admired people who can put on a façade, but that’s just not me. My greatest strength is my authenticity. I show up as myself in every situation, and I believe that’s my superpower — because there’s truly no one else who can be me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I’ve always believed in giving my very best, even when no one is watching or cheering me on. It’s simply who I am — consistency and integrity aren’t things I can turn on and off. While some may be able to “fake it” for a while, I believe true character always reveals itself in the end.
Of course, there are moments when it’s hard to keep pushing without recognition or applause, but when excellence is part of who you are, you can’t settle for anything less. That drive, that inner standard — it’s what guides me in everything I do.
