Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with DAIANA GUASTELLA of Downtown Miami

We recently had the chance to connect with DAIANA GUASTELLA and have shared our conversation below.

Hi DAIANA, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me, integrity is the most important. Intelligence and energy are both valuable qualities, but without integrity, they lose their real meaning. In business —and especially when working with clients and teams— trust is essential. When someone acts with integrity, you know their decisions and actions are guided by principles, not just convenience.
I also value energy because it drives projects forward and keeps enthusiasm alive, even during challenges. And intelligence is key to analyzing, planning, and making good decisions. But if I had to choose just one, it would always be integrity.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Daiana Guastella, co-founder and director of FastForward, a company specialized in ensuring FDA regulatory compliance and the safe entry of products into the U.S. market. We work with brands from all over the world in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and medical device industries, making sure every product meets regulatory standards and reaches consumers safely and legally.

At FastForward, we offer free consultations to guide companies through their first steps and support them throughout the process. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to each client — we understand their challenges, pay attention to every detail, and work with the same dedication as if it were our own brand.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Without a doubt, my family, and especially my husband, Carlos Bisio, my partner at FastForward, with whom I perfectly complement each other. He has always reminded me of my inner strength and resilience, and how my creativity and entrepreneurial vision are a core part of who I am. From the very beginning, he encouraged me to trust myself and to see every challenge as an opportunity to grow.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell her: “Trust yourself more.”
Don’t be afraid to make decisions — mistakes are also part of growth, and every challenge comes with a lesson. I’d remind her that everything happens in its time, that patience and consistency open more doors than haste, and that intuition is a powerful guide when you learn to listen to it.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is truly who I am. I’ve always been transparent, straightforward, and I have a great sense of humor. I don’t believe in appearances or showing a filtered version of myself — I believe in being consistent with what I think, say, and do.

I like staying close and approachable, both personally and professionally. I enjoy teamwork, listening to others, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable to share ideas. And yes, I laugh a lot — because I truly believe that humor and positive energy are essential for any successful project.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I’ve realized something that often goes unnoticed: success isn’t just about talent or hard work, it’s about resilience and consistency. And I think those of us who have immigrated understand that very well. Starting over in a new country teaches you to adapt, to be patient, and to keep going even when things don’t go as planned.

I also know that human relationships are key. You can have a great project, but without communication, trust, and respect, it’s hard to sustain it. At FastForward, we experience that every day — we work with people, not just with brands.
