Rising Stars: Meet Jewel Lavenskii of Hialeah Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jewel Lavenskii.

Hi Jewel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Jewel Lavenskii (Jewel Jean) is an American singer and rapper from Miami, Florida, born on June 28th, 2002. She started off singing at 7 years old, and her mom (Juenika L. Lee) always inspired her to keep going. She always encouraged her to follow her dreams, no matter what. Once her mother passed away, she took a break from music due to heartbreak. She needed time to process the loss, and then later she realized music was all she needed to overcome the pain she endured. She wanted to make music that makes other people feel happy, fierce, sometimes vulnerable, but always confident.

I have a new Ep called “Effective Lines” which drops on Jan 1st 2026 “Effective Lines” is a captivating five-track EP that explores the highs, lows, and in-betweens of love and connection. Blending smooth melodies, infectious hooks, and heartfelt lyrics, the project captures what it means to fall, lose, and find yourself in the rhythm of another person. Each song tells its own story — from passion and chaos to devotion and self-discovery — delivering a sound that’s as emotional as it is unforgettable.

Track Descriptions

1. Swing My Way
A vibrant, flirtatious anthem about magnetic attraction — when someone’s energy pulls you in no matter the time of day.

2. The City Lights
A romantic escape into late-night freedom — two souls chasing dreams and each other under the glow of the city.

3. Sound of the Stereo
An electrifying love letter to music itself — where rhythm, connection, and chemistry collide on the dance floor.

4. Turn Into a Psycho
A raw and honest dive into toxic passion — when emotions spiral and love blurs the line between thrill and madness.

5. I’ll Find My Way to You
The emotional heart of the EP — a promise of love that endures through distance, heartbreak, and time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As a singer, there are moments when the passion keeps you going, but the path can get tough. One of the biggest struggles has been staying consistent and confident, especially when things don’t move as fast as you’d like. There are times when you question yourself — your sound, your image, or whether people are really connecting with your music.

Balancing creativity with the business side of things has also been a challenge. You pour your heart into your art, but you also have to learn how to promote, market, and manage everything behind the scenes. And of course, rejection and setbacks are part of the journey — learning not to take them personally took time.

But every obstacle has shaped me and made me stronger. The love for music always brings me back, and those moments when someone tells me my song touched them make it all worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer-songwriter who blends Pop, Pop-punk, Hiphop and R&B influences to create music that feels vibrant, emotional, and real. My work is all about connection — I love writing songs that capture those universal feelings of love, desire, growth, and self-discovery, but with a rhythm and energy that makes people feel something deep.

I write most of my own music, and I take pride in telling stories that come from genuine experiences — whether it’s the rush of new love, the ache of heartbreak, or the joy of finding yourself again. What sets me apart is my ability to fuse soulful melodies with island-inspired sounds, creating a vibe that’s both smooth and dynamic.

I’m most proud of how far I’ve come as an independent artist — from writing songs in my room to performing and releasing music that people actually connect with. For me, it’s not just about chasing hits; it’s about making music that leaves an imprint, that makes someone say, “I’ve felt that too.”

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be performing at my school concert with my friends back in second grade. I remember how nervous and excited I was before going on stage — it felt like such a big moment at that age. But once we started performing, all the nerves turned into pure joy.

What made it so special was hearing the audience clap and cheer when we finished. It was the first time I got a real round of applause for something I did, and that moment stuck with me. I think that’s when I realized how powerful performing can be — how music and expression can connect people. That feeling has stayed with me ever since.
