Meet David Holding of Tampa, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Holding.

Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I launched Serenity Talent during COVID—honestly, we got bored sitting still and decided to build the mainstream talent agency we wished existed. My background on the creator side taught me how much talent need proactive, transparent representation and how much brands value speed and professionalism. We’re boutique by design and now operate primarily out of Los Angeles, with ongoing projects in Florida in addition to many other states. We have built up many international contacts as well. We grew one reliable booking at a time—clean contracts, clear communication, on-time talent—and built a roster focused on the most talented models and actors we can find.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not always smooth. Early on, even getting approved on the major casting platforms took persistence, and once we were in, keeping up with the volume—reading briefs fast, turning self-tapes quickly, and meeting ever-shifting specs—was a daily sprint. On the talent side, curating a reliable roster and setting professional standards (availability, punctuality, self-tape quality) took time. On the client side, last-minute changes, exclusivity conflicts, and brand-safety questions were common. We solved it with systems—tight CRM, casting checklists, template contracts, and clear comms—and by staying selective. It’s still a grind, but the processes we built in those friction points are a big reason we deliver consistently now.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re a boutique, mainstream talent agency built for speed and professionalism. Serenity Talent represents a curated roster for acting and modeling—acting is our core strength, with modeling right alongside it—across commercials, TV/film, music videos, print, digital/UGC, and live/experiential. We operate primarily out of Los Angeles, with steady work in Florida, many other U.S. markets, and select international projects. We’re known for being production-friendly: clear briefs, fast self-tape turnarounds, punctual talent, and clean usage terms that make approvals easy.

What sets us apart is boutique selectivity plus enterprise-grade process—tight CRM, casting checklists, standardized deliverables, and direct, honest communication. We don’t chase every gig; we place the right people in the right roles and support them with preparation (media kits, role notes, availability locks). I’m most proud of the repeat business and renewals our talent earn—proof that when sets run smoothly, everyone wins.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Building momentum for people makes me happy. Seeing a talent land a first booking, then a renewal because the set loved them—that’s the best part of the job. I’m happiest when the work is clean and fair: clear briefs, smooth shoots, on-time payments, and relationships that get stronger after each project. I also love the craft—great acting, strong images, creative teams solving problems together. At Serenity, we measure days by small wins that compound into careers. When our talent grows, clients rebook, and everyone leaves set proud of the work, that’s joy for me.
