Exploring Life & Business with Giselle Clemente of Cocoon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Clemente.

Hi Giselle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Giselle Clemente, a bilingual speech-language pathologist. I was the owner of a private pediatric practice for several years, where I worked closely with children and their families, helping them overcome challenges in different areas of development. Running my own practice allowed me to grow professionally and personally, deepening my empathy and understanding of the unique needs of each child and family.

My greatest passion has always been helping children reach their full potential. This passion led me to collaborate with María Rincón, an occupational therapist, to create Cocoon, an app designed for parents of babies 0–12 months old. Cocoon provides simple, organized, and science-backed exercises so parents can connect with their babies, stimulate their development, and enjoy every moment without feeling overwhelmed. Our goal is to bring years of clinical experience directly to families in a practical and accessible way, empowering them to actively support their child’s growth and well-being.

This project has been an incredible journey for me personally, combining my professional knowledge with creativity and social impact. Cocoon represents the heart of what I’ve always believed: that with the right guidance, parents can feel confident, connected, and truly present in their child’s developmental journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, and like any meaningful project, Cocoon came with its challenges. Transitioning from running a private practice to creating a digital platform required learning a whole new set of skills, from app development to digital marketing, while still maintaining the heart of what we do: supporting families and children.

At times, it was overwhelming to balance the clinical side with the technical and business aspects, and there were moments of doubt when we weren’t sure if we could translate our years of hands-on experience into a digital format that truly helps parents. But every challenge was also an opportunity to grow, to think creatively, and to stay deeply connected to our mission.

Looking back, the struggles have made Cocoon stronger and more meaningful. They reminded us that building something valuable takes patience, persistence, and a lot of empathy, not just for the families we serve, but for ourselves as creators and professionals.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cocoon?
Cocoon is an app created for parents of babies 0–12 months old, designed to make early childhood development simple, practical, and science-backed. We specialize in providing parents with organized exercises and activities that stimulate communication, language, cognitive, motor, and socio-emotional skills, all in ways that are easy to integrate into daily routines.

What sets Cocoon apart is our combination of clinical expertise and empathy. As a bilingual speech-language pathologist and an occupational therapist, María Rincón and I bring years of hands-on experience in pediatric therapy directly to families. Cocoon is not just another parenting app, it’s a tool designed to empower parents to confidently connect with their babies, nurture their development, and enjoy every moment without feeling overwhelmed.

We are most proud of creating a brand that genuinely supports families in a holistic way. Cocoon is rooted in science, yet approachable, practical, and relatable for everyday life. Our goal is to transform early parenting from a series of questions and worries into moments of connection, joy, and learning.

What we want readers to know is that Cocoon is more than an app, it’s a partner for parents. With Cocoon, families get access to tools that are simple, effective, and designed to make their parenting journey more confident, enjoyable, and meaningful.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’d like readers to know that parenting doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With small, intentional moments, like talking, singing, or playing, parents can have a big impact on their baby’s development. With Cocoon, you no longer have to search endlessly online for exercises, everything you need is simple, science-backed, and ready to use, helping parents feel confident, connected, and present with their little ones.
