Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy DeLucca.
Hi Wendy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Northern California, where wellness and movement were a way of life. As a lifelong athlete from high school and college sports to years spent as a personal trainer and fitness competitor health, mindfulness, and organic living have always been part of my DNA. That early foundation has shaped my personal and professional path ever since.
Today, I have the privilege of working at one of the world’s leading wellness resorts, where I connect people to transformative health experiences everyday. Blending both of my loves, working for the Carillon Wellness Resort and my 20+ years of event creation and production, has allowed me to merge purpose with passion in a deeply fulfilling way.
Recently, I created and produced The ThriveWell Retreat, a first-of-its-kind event focused on empowering women through the transitions of perimenopause and beyond. The retreat united doctors, wellness leaders, and changemakers to open an honest, science-backed, and soulful dialogue about women’s health creating a restorative space where education meets empowerment. The support from the community was overwhelming; our event partners included Jackson Health System, the Greater Miami LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, the biostation, Sanctuary MiMo, Panache Events, Wynwellness, Womens Fund, Women of Tomorrow and luxury brands we carry at the Carillon.
And, this is only the beginning. My vision is to grow the ThriveWell Collective into a year-round community offering ongoing connection, credible education, and curated wellness pop-ups, culminating in an annual event that continues to expand in scale and impact.
Ultimately, my mission is to help redefine how women approach midlife not as an ending, but as an evolution supported by knowledge, and inspiration to thrive through every chapter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I first launched my event company, DeLucca Events, I was convinced I could handle everything on my own. I rarely asked for help, poured myself into the work, and eventually found that the passion that once fueled me had begun to fade. Before I knew it, I was completely burned out. Looking back, I realize I should have invested in support to help grow the business instead of trying to do it all myself. I learned the hard way, it is ok to ask for help.
Ultimately, I decided to pause my business and return to the corporate world, taking on the role of Director of Rental Events at the Adrienne Arsht Center. I truly loved my time there producing major events like the NBC Democratic Debates and the NFL Honors Award Show which were monumental experiences. Yet, deep down, I missed the creative freedom and sense of purpose that came from building something meaningful and seeing it come to life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As the Membership Director at the Carillon Wellness Resort, my role centers around creating meaningful connections and experiences that help our community thrive in both body and mind. Each day, I have the opportunity to introduce members and guests to our extensive array of therapeutic modalities designed to restore, energize, and inspire.
Our wellness technology is truly state-of-the-art, offering everything from red light therapy to cryotherapy, salt chambers and infrared saunas. These innovative treatments support cellular health, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and enhance recovery benefiting everyone from athletes to those simply seeking renewal. The focus is on longevity and as I like to say, aging backwards.
Beyond the technology, and our world-class spa, members have access to 75 fitness classes per week, a 10,000 sq ft gym, and the iconic North Miami Beach oceanfront setting. My role involves weaving all these health elements together curating experiences that not only showcase our unique amenities but also nurtures a community focused on education and personal growth. Whether it’s through bespoke wellness events, collaborations with local partners, or guiding members toward the modalities best suited to their needs, my goal is to help every individual feel more connected, balanced, and mentally well.
What does success mean to you?
Success, for me, is when something I offer touches people, when they walk away feeling seen, supported, and inspired to care for themselves in new ways. We all need to hit the reset button from time-to-time.
