Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Graterol.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Jose Graterol walked into Flowers &. Flowers in 1994 on Lincoln Road. He landed a job there for 1 month, but the owner was so impressed with his talent that the job lasted 3 years. After a few other floral design and interior design jobs, Jose eventually opened his own business, Jose Graterol Designs, in 2005. After celebrating 20 years in business, Jose is now a lead designer for all types of social and corporate events and galas at the Gilded Group, based in Doral, FL. The Gilded Group produces stunning events in South Florida, Orlando, New York and all over the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Jose Graterol’s journey has been relatively smooth because he is a perfectionist, committed to the highest quality products and is extremely detail-oriented in his work. Above all, Jose is a humble, empathetic, honest man who surrounds himself and his business with like-minded people.

Jose loves designs of all types! Jose is trained in designing: interiors, gardens, lighting, fashion, storefronts, florals, weddings, galas, social and corporate events, hair, makeup, accessories. He is often referred to as the “handyman of the event!” Jose has the unique gift of being able to live, breathe and see an event prior to actually producing it. He can visualize every detail of it before the event even occurs! Jose is known for exceptional quality in all of his designs. He expects and produces events with ease and near-perfection in a quiet, calm environment. Jose is most proud of the fact that he has been able to produce and design events and fashion designs all over the world and that people delight in his creations!
What matters most to you? Why?
The most important thing in Jose’s work is for the client to truly connect with him. When there is an initial great connection and energy between Jose and the client, then the trust, creativity and entire process flows more easily and naturally.
