Hi Crystal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
At 30, I decided to change careers. I was absolutely terrified, however, recognized that I was no longer happy or fulfilled working as a mental health therapist. I always had a passion for skincare and beauty and after much deliberation, I decided to go back to school and become an esthetician. I began working at a spa and after a 5 years, I started my own business, Glasshouse Esthetics. Glasshouse Esthetics recently turned 1 and I’m thrilled to say my business is thriving!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think a lot of people thought I was crazy to make such a big change at 30. There are these societal milestones and I think most people feel like starting over is a sign of failure. Not me. Any change can be difficult, but what’s worse is playing it safe. I love to challenge myself and I still feel like a therapist because self care is crucial for your mental health.

I think attributing my success to luck would be do a disservice to myself. Hard work and passion are the reasons why I get to call myself a business owner.
