Today we’d like to introduce you to Rasheeal Dixon.
Hi Rasheeal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, I kind of started accidentally, but I believe nothing happens by accident or by a “coincidence.” I was teaching a meditation class, and one of my students from the class brought the idea to me. He was a very successful insurance broker and said to me that my passion, my patience, and the way I pay attention to detail would translate well in this industry.
He sent me the state study materials. I dived in for about a month, and before I knew it, I was licensed. It has been the best decision I have ever made in my whole life.
The number one thing in this industry is persistence and being consistent. I enjoy helping families and businesses, so once I am in the door. I know that what I have to offer will make sense every single time because I am not captive to one company.
The beauty of being a broker is that I have access to multiple insurance companies and can compare who has the best product to fit the needs of my client.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth well, no, but is anything in life worth it is smooth? I think anything worth it will have its challenges. Some struggles would be from people ghosting you or not even showing up to appointments. I guess that is the story of the world when dealing with human beings.
This is where being consistent and having a great attitude play a major part in aiming to win a client over. Or at least showing a business owner or any prospect just exactly what we can do for them. The hours can sometimes be very long, like nineteen-hour days, but every minute of every hour makes sense when you get that one client who is very appreciative and was looking for the solution that you are offering.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are an Insurance brokerage, and we specialize in worksite benefits or group benefits for employers that they can then offer to their employees at no cost to the business owner. These benefits also come with some great tax savings for the business owner. These benefits include things like short-term disability, Critical illness, cancer coverage, and income replacement in the event the employee has a major life event and cannot come to work, but still has to pay their bills.
We also specialize in insurance for individuals and their families. We can do health, life, and annuities. We work with estate planners and attorneys to help with estate planning for individuals who might need a life insurance policy.
The main thing that sets us apart is that we try to embody the name we have, which is “Greater Limits.” We go far beyond the norm and try to make sure we find the greatest limits of coverage, whether it is an individual or a business owner. We treat everyone the same because we understand the importance of the task that we have been given and would never want to let any client down.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I feel like the industry will have even more growth because, no matter the industry, people will always want benefits.
Employers will need to attract more talent, and one way to attract a high-quality client is by offering a very attractive benefits package along with a great salary. We are there to answer the calling.
We also know that individuals will need more coverage also as we deal with an aging population.
I see this industry as one that will only have growth, and I am happy that we are at the forefront of it all.
