Conversations with Aviva Rubin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aviva Rubin.

Hi Aviva, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I launched my Pilates practice ten years ago, initially offering private sessions to friends and neighbors in my home studio. As my client base grew, I relocated four years ago to a larger, dedicated studio space in my neighborhood to better serve the community. I now own and operate a Pilates studio in Hollywood, conveniently located near Emerald Hills, Hollywood Hills, and Dania Beach. Our studio specializes in private, semi-private, and small group Pilates sessions, focusing on personalized attention and professional instruction.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The growth of my business has been steady and rewarding. Like many small businesses, navigating the challenges of COVID-19 required creativity and adaptability. During that time, I transitioned to teaching clients virtually as Zoom became an everyday tool for connection. That shift not only allowed me to continue supporting my clients but also expanded my reach. Even today, I continue to train clients online—some who have relocated and others who appreciate the flexibility to maintain their Pilates practice while

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My background is in Nutrition. I am a Registered Dietitian./ Nutritionist, with a Masters of science in Nutrition. I worked as a clinical dietitian in hospitals for 20 years, before I became certified to teach Pilates. I transitioned to coaching clients on Nutrition choices and recommendations throughout various stages and conditions that are encountered throughout their life. I currently am focusing on helping women navigate the nutritional and training challenges that face in the peri- menopause and menopause.years. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built over the years with so many women, which allows them to trust me and me to positively impact their health and well being. What sets me apart is my attention to detail to make sure every person I see gets the best information, guidance and support that I am capable of providing .

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing clients succeed by following a plan we’ve created together. Watching their progress, both physically and mentally is incredibly fulfilling. As my studio continues to grow, I am able to help more people. I recently hired my first instructor, which has been an exciting milestone. I’m looking forward to expanding my reach even further and helping more people experience the benefits of movement and using it to age with strength and grace!
