Life & Work with Ron of Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ron.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I actually started doing hair when I was just 15 years old. I began as an assistant, training under some incredibly talented hairstylists and salon owners who really helped shape the foundation of my career. I went on to study at the Shuki Zikri Academy, and I was always learning—whether it was by watching, assisting, or jumping in wherever I could.

Working in Tel Aviv gave me amazing opportunities. I got to style for Master Chef Israel, participate in major fashion shows with brands like Zara and L’Oréal Professionnel, and really experience the creative, fast-paced side of the industry. I loved every part of it.

After that, I met my wife, Arielle, and we decided to move to Toronto. It was a big change, but it gave me the chance to grow even more—learning new techniques and adapting to a different market. One highlight during that time was getting to style Netta Barzilai, the winner of Eurovision 2018, which was an incredible experience.

Owning my own salon had always been a dream, and with Arielle’s support, we made it happen. We started small—literally in the basement of our home in Toronto—and slowly built it up together. I handled the creative side, and Arielle was the vision and strategy behind it all. That partnership really became the magic of our brand.

Eventually, we opened a full salon, and everything was going amazing—until COVID hit. Like many people, that was an incredibly challenging time for us. It forced us to rethink everything, and that’s when the idea of moving to Florida came up.

Long story short, we made the move to Boca Raton and took over Blow to Paris. At first, it was a blow-dry bar, but over time, we’ve transformed it into a full-service salon. For a while, we even managed everything remotely from Canada, which wasn’t easy—but it showed us how much we loved and believed in what we were building.

Today, we’re fully focused on growing Blow to Paris. I specialize in hair extensions, color correction, balayage, and precision cutting—while Arielle continues to lead the brand with her incredible eye for business and creativity. It’s been quite a journey, but every step brought us to where we are now, and I couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but every challenge has taught us something valuable. Like many people in this industry, there have been ups and downs along the way. When we first opened our salon in Toronto, things were going really well until COVID hit. Being shut down for over a year was incredibly difficult — not just financially, but emotionally. It forced us to completely rethink our business and our next steps.

That’s when we decided to take a leap of faith and move to Florida. Starting over in a completely new market was a huge challenge. Toronto and Florida are very different — not just in style, but in the mentality of both clients and stylists. It took time to really understand the market here, to rebuild from scratch, and to find the right team that shared our vision and work ethic.

Managing the salon remotely from Canada in the beginning was also tough — trying to keep things running smoothly from a distance was far from easy. But through all of that, we learned how resilient we could be. We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing stylists who have joined our team in Boca Raton and helped us grow into the full-service salon we are today.

Looking back, it definitely hasn’t been an easy journey, but every obstacle pushed us to evolve, stay creative, and keep moving forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My main passion and specialty are hair extensions and color — creating transformations that look seamless, natural, and healthy. I have a real eye for matching the perfect color and blending extensions so that no one can tell where the natural hair ends and the extensions begin. For me, the goal is always for the hair to move, feel, and look like it’s your own.

I’m certified in all methods of Bellami Hair and Inifitude Hair, and I’m constantly researching the market to find the best quality hair and the most advanced techniques available. Extensions are a big investment for clients, so I make it my priority to stay educated and ahead of the trends — from the newest installation methods to the best aftercare routines.

What really sets my work apart is that I don’t just focus on the end result — I focus on hair health first. Healthy hair is the foundation of everything I do. I believe that beautiful hair starts with proper care, and I love sharing my knowledge with clients — from the right products to use, to how to protect their hair from damage, to simple everyday habits that make a difference.

Whether I’m doing a full color transformation, extensions, or corrective work, I always aim to create hair that looks and feels incredible — natural, healthy, and full of life. That’s what I’m most proud of — helping people look in the mirror and truly love what they see.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that healthy hair always comes first — no matter what. In this industry, people often want instant results — a big color change, a full set of extensions — but sometimes the best thing I can do for a client is to slow the process down and focus on restoring their hair’s health first.

It’s not always easy, because people want what they want in the moment. But I’ve learned that honesty and patience always pay off. When you take the time to rebuild the integrity of the hair, the results last longer, look better, and the client feels more confident in the end.

Over the years, I’ve realized that my role isn’t just about creating beautiful transformations — it’s about guiding my clients through a healthy hair journey. Teaching them how to care for their hair, protecting it from damage, and making sure every service we do adds to its strength and shine.

That approach has really shaped who I am as a stylist. It’s taught me that true beauty doesn’t come from shortcuts — it comes from care, education, and doing what’s right for the client, even when it takes a little more time.
