Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Tingz Ward AKA TINGZ.
Hi TINGZ, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Charles Tingz Ward. But a lot of people in the creative industry call me TINGZ. I have created multiple Grammy Award Winning and Grammy Nominated album covers for Artist such as Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Third World, Sly & Robbie and many more.
I am originally from Kansas and moved to Los Angeles and went to art school when i was 20 years old. That was in 2000.
Worked 14 years in the entertainment industry there and then moved to Miami area 10 years ago.
I now do a lot of fine art illustration within the photography spectrum as well as paint large scale abstract paintings as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I was first starting, it was very difficult. I went to arts school and then had to go through internships where you’re working for free for six months out of a time just to get access to high end Entertainment design and artwork. After five years of working hard the ceilings finally broke free.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a multifaceted, fine artist, photographer, abstract painter, and Creative Director. I am known for creating many Grammy award-winning album covers. I also do a lot of music videos as well. Right now I am working on a project called human nature. This is a fine art photographic illustration series that highlights the juxtaposition between human energy and nature.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I have learned to be more mindful and clean in my environment. Project what you have and be patient with others.
