Inspiring Conversations with Kimberly Portuondo of Page One Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Portuondo.

Hi Kimberly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After graduating college, I began my career in marketing at an insurance agency. I enjoyed the strategic side of the work but quickly realized that a traditional 9-to-5 role limited my creativity and the variety of industries I could explore. Part of my job involved educating local business owners on the importance of marketing and protecting their companies. After each presentation, people would approach me asking if I could help them with their marketing, planting seeds that I didn’t yet realize would grow into my future business.

The real turning point came during a visit to Markson Chiropractic. My chiropractor at the time mentioned he needed marketing support, and I immediately saw an opportunity to merge my professional skills with a field I truly believed in, holistic health and chiropractic care. A few months later, in August 2014, I took the leap, left my job in insurance, and launched KP Kreative, now known as Page One Digital, with Markson Chiropractic as my first client.

That connection opened doors I never could have predicted. Dr. Rick Markson also runs a coaching organization that helps chiropractors across the country build thriving practices. He invited me to share marketing strategies at his seminars, which quickly expanded my reach and client base. What began as a one-client venture has grown into a full-scale marketing agency supporting healthcare professionals nationwide.

While Page One Digital specializes in ongoing marketing for chiropractors and other medical professionals, we also partner with a wide range of businesses for consulting, web design, and digital growth strategies.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Since launching Page One Digital in 2014, we’ve been fortunate to double our revenue year after year. While that might sound like a smooth journey, there were plenty of challenges along the way, especially when it came to scaling our services.

Page One Digital provides web design, search engine optimization, and digital marketing solutions, including social media management and paid advertising. We take a customized approach with every client because no two businesses are the same. Creating original websites, ads, and images for each one takes time and attention to detail, and I quickly realized that sustainable growth would require building the right team.

Finding, hiring, and training talented people has been one of the biggest learning curves of running the business. Over the years, we’ve experienced our share of growing pains, but those experiences helped us find the right people for the right roles. Partnering with a firm to support our HR and company culture has also made a tremendous difference in helping our team and business thrive.

Page One Digital specializes in responsive web design, search engine optimization, and digital marketing, including social media management and business advertising. In short, we help businesses improve their digital presence in any way they need.

Our approach is built around the idea that clients don’t always know the best way to achieve their goals, which is why they hire us for our expertise. While they usually understand what they want for their business, they rely on us to guide them toward the most effective solutions.

We are best known for creating custom websites that clients can edit on their own after a brief training session. In my experience, traditional custom websites are expensive and often require waiting on a developer for even small changes. That doesn’t work for busy business owners, so we focus on giving our clients flexibility and control over their own sites.

What sets us apart is the full range of services we offer, all in one place and at an affordable rate. Many businesses have to work with separate providers for web design, SEO, social media, and advertising. We handle it all in-house, customizing each solution to deliver the best results possible.

The part I’m most proud of is helping clients reach levels they didn’t think were possible. Some clients are starting from scratch, with no website or social media presence, while others are more advanced and open to new ideas. Either way, seeing our clients achieve results and grow their businesses is an incredible reward.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see digital marketing moving toward more personalized and automated strategies. Consumers expect content and campaigns that speak directly to their needs, and businesses that can deliver that will stand out.

Technology will continue to drive change, with artificial intelligence, voice search, and immersive experiences becoming more important. At the same time, data privacy and transparency will be critical, and companies that balance effective marketing with ethical practices will gain trust.

I also expect a continued blending of traditional and digital channels. Businesses that take a holistic approach by combining web presence, social media, SEO, and advertising will see the most success.
