Conversations with Lui Vizcaya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lui Vizcaya.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Valencia, Venezuela, to two passionate educators who instilled in me a love for learning, curiosity, and the courage to pursue my dreams. From a young age, I was drawn to connecting with people and making them laugh, a spark that would later shape my path. I earned my degree in Mass Communication from Universidad Arturo Michelena, a foundation that strengthened my voice and creativity.

My journey into comedy began in the most unexpected way—while in the audience of Kabeto’s show Probanditoe, I was discovered, and that moment changed everything. From there, I started exploring the stage, finding my rhythm, my voice, and the power of laughter to connect with others. Comedy became not just a passion, but a way to share authenticity, joy, and stories that resonate.

Alongside comedy, my faith and emotional growth have been guiding lights. Being a Christian and continuously working on myself has taught me resilience, the beauty of vulnerability, and the importance of staying grounded amid life’s ups and downs.

Today, I co-host podcasts like Mi Amor con TQ, blending humor, entertainment, and everyday life, creating spaces where laughter and authenticity are always at the center. Every step—from being discovered in an audience to stepping on stage and behind the microphone—has been a lesson in courage, self-expression, and following one’s heart. My journey is far from over, but I embrace it with excitement, faith, and the joy of sharing smiles wherever I go.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey hasn’t been easy. Moving to a tough yet beautiful city like Miami came with its challenges—a place that can make you or break you. For a while, I felt lost, questioning my purpose even after six years of working as a makeup artist, a craft that had always been my way of connecting with people through beauty. I realized that while makeup allowed me to bring joy and confidence to others, something inside me was yearning for a deeper connection—one that came through laughter, storytelling, and being unapologetically myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a comedian, host, storyteller, content creator, and podcaster, and my work revolves around connecting with people through laughter, authenticity, and meaningful conversation. I specialize in creating spaces—whether on stage, behind a microphone, or through a podcast—where people can feel seen, understood, and entertained. I’m known for blending humor with real-life experiences, sharing moments that are relatable, raw, and often unexpected.

What I’m most proud of is the journey itself—how I’ve taken moments of uncertainty, self-doubt, and being far from home, and turned them into a platform to inspire, entertain, and connect with others. I’m also part of an amazing family called The Connector House, where I get to co-create podcasts and projects that amplify voices, stories, and laughter in ways that feel authentic and joyful.

What sets me apart is my ability to mix humor with heart: I don’t just want people to laugh, I want them to feel, to remember that even in the chaos of life, there’s space for joy, authenticity, and connection. My work is my way of showing that being yourself—fully, unapologetically—is the most powerful thing you can offer the world.

What does success mean to you?
I define success in a few simple words: DOING WHAT YOU LOVE FOR WORK WHILE BEING YOURSELF.
