Inspiring Conversations with Juan Castillo of THE ROOM CONCEPT STORE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Castillo.

Hi Juan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story began with a dream to create something different — a space that redefined how men experience fashion. I started The Room Concept Store with the idea of curating not just clothes, but a lifestyle — a meeting point between avant-garde design, street luxury, and personal identity.

I built The Room from scratch, first as a small project inspired by the creative energy of Bogotá, and later bringing it to Miami — one of the most vibrant and competitive fashion scenes in the world. It wasn’t easy at all; I handled everything from finding brands, managing logistics, and shipping, to building relationships with designers, stylists, and artists who believed in the same vision.

Over time, The Room became a platform for emerging and established designers such as Cubel, Garcias, Lugo Lugo ,Juun J, Juntae Kim, Wicked, Undergold , and others — a community that represents authenticity, individuality, and creative freedom.

Today, The Room is more than a store; it’s a story of perseverance, culture, and connection. From being featured in GQ Portugal and Rolling Stone to dressing artists and creatives across the world, my journey has always been about one thing — believing in your vision even when no one else does

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My story started with a vision and a couple of racks filled with ideas. I always knew I wanted to create something that went beyond selling clothes — a space that represented creativity, attitude, and culture. That’s how The Room Concept Store was born.

It began in Bogotá, inspired by the people, the energy, and the desire to bring something fresh to men’s fashion. Over time, that vision grew, and I brought it to Miami, turning The Room into a platform for designers, artists, and anyone who dares to be different.

Today it’s more than a store — it’s a reflection of everything I believe in: authenticity, connection, and the power of building something real from the ground up.

We’ve been impressed with THE ROOM CONCEPT STORE , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Room Concept Store is a curated space that redefines how men experience fashion. We focus on avant-garde and luxury streetwear — mixing established and emerging designers from around the world. Every brand we carry has a story, a soul, and a vision that connects with individuality and authenticity.

We work with labels like Cubel, Juun J, Y3, Undergold Lugo Lugo Juntae Kim, Wicked, Yoo Gang, and other creatives who challenge the limits of design and self-expression. What makes The Room different is the energy — it’s not just a store, it’s a concept, a movement, a place where fashion, art, and culture collide.

We’re proud to have been featured in GQ Portugal, Rolling Stone, and to collaborate with artists, stylists, and creators who represent the new generation of style. Above all, The Room is about community — people who believe in doing things with intention, attitude, and meaning.

How do you think about happiness?
It makes me happy to see that the projects I’ve been building are starting to make a name in Miami. It makes me proud that my vision of fashion is touching this city and helping turn Miami into a real style reference.

I feel like we’re pioneers in many ways — Miami has everything, and it’s growing fast. There are more artists, more fashion labels, more energy, and so many cultural moments happening, from music festivals to creative collaborations. All of that makes my time here feel inspiring and fulfilling.
