Today we’d like to introduce you to John Falco.
Hi John, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My first memories started in Larry & Penny Thompson trailer park. After that we moved all around SW Miami…followed by a few high school years in North Carolina before returning back to Kendall. Then the Air Force took me around the world a bit before, again, returning to sunny South Florida. After a few years with the Defense Intelligence Agency and a couple amazing kiddos…I pivoted aggressively and opened Lincoln’s Beard Brewing. Since then, my team and I have been lucky enough to open four additional concepts; Strange Beast, Maxwell Bros, Thorn, and Cry Baby Creamery.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has most certainly not been a smooth road. From COVID to the County, the obstacles have been plentiful. However, I’ve learned that survival requires embracing obstacles as they come. Most things cannot be truly understood unless they’re experienced, not just taught.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do consider myself a creative, though not necessarily in a traditional way. If I had a medium it would be “human experience” and the tools of my trade (for lack of way better phrases) would be the amazing creatives and talented individuals I have the honor to work with on a daily basis. But whatever you may call this “art,” it’s in my blood and I live for it.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
“Peace is not earned.”
Though I’m still a novice when it comes to this specific lesson.
