Hi Gilad, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2013, I co-founded Moburst with my business partner Lior Eldan, a journey that began with a shared vision to reshape the future of mobile marketing. We both came from unique backgrounds; Lior had deep expertise in digital marketing, while I had extensive experience in the mobile industry. The synergy of our skills led us to see the opportunity in mobile marketing as it was rapidly becoming the primary method for consumer engagement.
We bootstrapped the business, relying on our own resources and the belief that mobile marketing was the future. In those early days, we faced the typical challenges that come with building something from the ground up – limited resources, long hours. But we were motivated by the idea of creating something impactful and unique.
After very successful launches with many startups, their investors came to us and offered to invest into the company. We raised 2.4 million in 2014 and 2015, and opened branches in New York and San Francisco.
The turning point came in 2015, when we secured our first major client: Google. That was a game-changer for us; not only did it validate our approach, but it also positioned us as a serious player in the digital marketing world, opening doors to partnerships with other global giants like Samsung, Uber and Reddit.
As we grew, we diversified our offerings, expanding from mobile app marketing to a broader range of services. One of the most defining moments in our journey was our decision to embrace emerging technologies, particularly AI. This allowed us to stay ahead of the curve and provide innovative solutions that have consistently delivered impressive results for our clients.
Today, Moburst is a global agency with offices in multiple countries. We’ve completed five successful acquisitions of other agencies into our group, and scaled our offerings from five to 29. It’s been an incredible ride, and I’m proud of the team we’ve built and the impact we’ve made in the digital marketing space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where we are today has been anything but smooth. One of the toughest times came in 2017 when the mobile marketing world faced a crisis of trust. Issues like click fraud and concerns over the transparency of advertising practices led to growing skepticism among advertisers. This was a pivotal moment for us; we realized we had to develop more robust measures to ensure the integrity of our campaigns, shifting our focus to more authentic, value-driven marketing.
The next big challenge was the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many businesses, we had to rapidly adapt to an entirely new reality. The pandemic disrupted industries and economies across the globe, forcing us to rethink how we engaged with our clients and audiences. It also accelerated the need for digital transformation. We quickly adapted by enhancing our virtual collaboration tools, increasing our focus on data-driven marketing, and helping brands shift their messaging to address new consumer concerns.
We were able to turn these challenges into opportunities. The trust we built with clients during the 2017 crisis led to even stronger relationships, and we saw our client base grow. The pandemic forced us to innovate, and that innovation continues to fuel our growth today. We’ve learned that challenges are inevitable, but how you respond to them defines your success.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the need for adaptability. The digital marketing industry is dynamic, and it’s easy to become complacent if you’re not constantly evolving. What worked yesterday may not work today, and we’ve had to continually reassess our strategies and embrace new technologies and methods to stay ahead. Being flexible and open to change has allowed us to thrive, even during challenging times.
Another key lesson is the importance of maintaining core values while navigating these changes. Staying true to our ethos of transparency, integrity and client-first service has been essential to our long-term success. We’ve worked hard to ensure that every decision we make aligns with our mission of delivering outstanding results.
Lastly, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about the numbers; it’s about making a real impact. For us, it’s not enough to just grow the company. We want to build something that leaves a lasting legacy in the digital marketing world by continually pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional results that truly change the businesses we work with.
