Check Out Whitney Ash’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Ash.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Thank you! I’m honored to be part of this feature. My journey with the Miami Cancer Institute Boutique has been one of purpose and compassion. I come from a background in beauty and wellness, but I found my true calling when I began working with patients who are going through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Being able to help them feel comfortable, confident, and cared for through personalized fittings, wigs, and post-surgery garments has been deeply rewarding. Every day here reminds me that kindness and empathy can make a real differenc

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been easy — working with patients facing cancer requires emotional strength and sensitivity. There are moments that are very touching and others that are difficult. But I’ve learned that listening, patience, and compassion are powerful tools. The greatest lesson has been understanding that beauty and healing go hand in hand — and that a small act of care, like helping someone find the perfect wig or garment, can restore hope and dignity.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In addition to our Salon Services, the MCI Boutique also focuses on supporting patients through every step of their recovery with personalized care from our Certified Mastectomy Fitter and staff. We provide post-surgical garments, compression wear, wigs, and breast prostheses and bras, lotions and hair regrowth treatments. However, beyond that, we offer emotional support and reassurance. It’s not just about products — it’s about educating our patients and helping them feel whole again, cared for, and beautiful in their own way.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing a patient smile again — that moment when they look in the mirror and feel good about themselves after everything they’ve been through. Knowing that I’ve helped make their day a little brighter fill me with joy and gratitude.

For me it is about people and their individuality!
