Life & Work with Raoul Belidor (RaoulBHD) of Ft. Lauderdale/Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raoul Belidor (RaoulBHD).

Raoul Belidor (RaoulBHD)

Hi Raoul Belidor, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started creating and editing videos as early as middle school and high school. What started as simple curiosity about cameras turned into something that shaped the entire direction of my life. I was fortunate to have a few mentors who believed in me early on, they brought me onto their sets, gave me real hands-on experience, and even got paid me while I learned. Those early opportunities showed me the power of storytelling and community, and I knew this was something that I wanted to do for my life.

From there, I dove all in. I spent countless hours studying online tutorials, researching gear, and experimenting with editing techniques, but more than anything, I focused on creating consistently. Every project, big or small, became a chance to learn something new. Over time, I grew from being the person capturing moments to someone capable of directing full productions and guiding creative vision from concept to completion.

As my work evolved, so did my purpose. I realized that my passion wasn’t just in creating content, it was in helping others create too. That led me into teaching, mentoring, and eventually building spaces for creatives to grow together. Now, my focus is on continuing to bridge creativity, education, and storytelling. Whether I’m producing brand campaigns, directing narrative films, or leading workshops, my goal is the same to empower others to believe in their vision and realize how far their creativity can take them. I want to give the next generation of creatives the same opportunity somebody gave me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I had to overcome was being the youngest in the room. Early on, I had to navigate spaces where experience often mattered more than raw talent. Instead of backing down, I focused on mastering my craft, showing up with professionalism, and letting my work speak for itself.

But one of my biggest challenges came later, once I started turning my passion into a business. I reached a point where I was doing so much client work just to stay afloat that I lost touch with my own creativity. I was constantly in go-mode and working nonstop, taking every opportunity, but never really creating space for me. I was surviving, not thriving.

That phase taught me a lot about balance and self-worth. I realized that being busy doesn’t always mean being fulfilled. So I made a shift then I raised my standards, restructured my business, and started focusing on fewer projects at a higher ticket. That change gave me stability, freedom, and the creative clarity I was missing.

Now, I’m in a space where I can serve my clients with excellence and still pour into my own creative work. The journey from being the youngest and trying to prove myself, to now leading with confidence and creative stability, has been one of growth, discipline, and self-belief. It’s what allowed me to finally build a life and business that feel aligned with who I truly am.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve built my career around telling stories whether it’s through brand content, films, or creative campaigns that actually connect with people.

Under RaoulBHD, I focus on helping businesses, brands, and organizations tell their story in a cinematic way. I don’t just shoot videos, I help clients craft visuals that reflect who they are and what they stand for. I produce everything from commercial campaigns, branded films, conferences & event coverage. I’ve learned that when storytelling and strategy come together, that’s where real results happen.

I’m also a co-chair and partner with Film.cen.tric: Where the Unconventional Meets Cinematic Expression. a film exhibition platform here in South Florida that highlights short films and independent filmmakers. It’s become a community space for creatives to connect, showcase their work, and be inspired. What started as a small idea turned into a growing movement, something that’s giving a voice to filmmakers who often go unseen.

What I’m most proud of now is how both sides of my work, the business and the creative both reflect each other. I’m in a place where I get to create, teach, and help others grow in their craft while still pushing my own boundaries as a filmmaker. What keeps me inspired is seeing others win, creating meaningful work, and continuing to grow as an artist and entrepreneur.

Any big plans?
Right now, I’m in a season of alignment, where everything I’ve been building is starting to connect. My goal is to keep elevating the quality of work I produce while creating more opportunities for other creatives to grow alongside me. My goal isn’t to become famous but to be someone significant and make a real impact through the work I create.

With my business, I’m focused on developing stronger partnerships with brands that value storytelling and creative direction, projects that allow me to bring a cinematic edge to campaigns while keeping authenticity at the core. I want to do more purpose-driven work that not only looks great but also leaves an impact. I really want to do more high end commercial campaigns & commercial films that allows me to blend my creativity and help brands tell their story.

What I’m most looking forward to is creating workshops, classes, and mentorship programs to teach people about video production — everything from storytelling and camera work to editing and business strategy. I’ve learned so much through experience, and now I want to pass that knowledge on to others who are ready to take their craft seriously.

In the future, I see Film.cen.tric growing into a national movement, a bridge between independent creators and the industry at large. I want South Florida to be recognized not just for its culture, but for the stories, talent, and creative energy that are born here.

One thing I truly believe and still believe is that “It’s not the smartest people in the world that win but a lot of times it’s the boldest.” – That mindset has guided every step of my journey. So what’s next for me is impact and continuing to build, create, and leave behind something meaningful that helps others believe in the power of their own story.
