I started my career as a hairstylist more than 15 years ago. Together with my wife, Irina, we built two successful salons in Warsaw, Poland, and worked with clients from many different cultures and backgrounds. My passion has always been about more than just cutting or coloring hair — it’s about helping people feel confident, comfortable, and proud of how they look.
After many years in Europe, my family and I decided to start a new chapter in Florida. When we first came to Dania Beach, we met Dave — the original founder of the salon who had been running it for almost two decades. There was something truly special about the space — you could feel its history, warmth, and energy the moment you walked in. After several conversations with Dave, we realized this wasn’t just a business opportunity, it was a chance to continue a legacy and bring new life to a place that had served the local community for so many years. That’s how the new MAC HAIR was born — a blend of tradition, creativity, and a modern vision for the beauty industry. Our business is built on family values — trust, respect, and genuine love for people.
Today, we’re creating not just a salon, but a space where everyone feels comfortable and welcomed, regardless of their culture, language, or background. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy road — but we truly believe that every challenge is part of the journey. Starting a business in a new country means facing a lot of unknowns: new laws, new systems, and a completely different way of doing things.
When we took over the salon, we had to rebuild almost everything from the ground up — from licensing and renovations to developing a new brand and forming a strong team. There were moments of uncertainty, language barriers, and endless paperwork. But through it all, we stayed true to our vision and supported each other as a family.
What helped us most was keeping people at the center of everything — our clients, our partners, and our team. Every difficulty taught us something valuable: patience, adaptability, and the importance of community. And today, looking back, we see that all those challenges became the foundation for something truly beautiful.
