Today we’d like to introduce you to Nannette Chacon.
Hi Nannette, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Honestly, my love for movement and the human body started way before I ever called it a “career.” Back in high school, I took AP Anatomy and Nursing Basics, and I was hooked. I’ve always been fascinated by how the body works how everything connects. But what really shaped me was growing up with a dad who was obsessed with boxing and working out. Movement wasn’t something we had to “schedule” it was just part of daily life. I’d watch him train, get hyped to work out, and I guess that energy rubbed off on me in the best way.
I started off in the medical field, working with urologists, reconstructive plastic surgeons, and orthopedic doctors. I loved learning, but over time, I found myself drawn to a more human, hands-on side of health the part that’s about preventing injury, moving smarter, and actually feeling good in your body. That curiosity is what led me into the sports therapy world, where everything really started to click.
In that setting, I got to merge anatomy, movement, and real human stories. I spent years in a clinical environment, getting certifications, reading MRI reports, working with spinal conditions, and testing techniques that focused on posture restoration, functional strength, and injury prevention. That’s where I built the foundation of the method I still use today evidence-based movement, delivered with a lot of heart.
After almost a decade, I decided to take everything I’d learned and build something of my own. That’s how Aligned Training was born. I wanted to bring what I was doing inside those walls out into the real world to help people understand their bodies, feel more connected, and move in ways that actually support them.
Since then, I’ve specialized in strength training techniques that incorporate a form-focused approach to build the body’s postural and deep stabilizers, mobility training, and I’ve developed a deep love for restorative and breath-led yoga practices. I’ve done live dissections, trained at Harvard’s Mind-Body course, studied Yoga Nidra, breathwork, and worked alongside incredible energy healers.
Now, my work is this beautiful blend of science, movement, strength, and energy and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Movement isn’t just my career. It’s my language, my way of connecting with people, and my way of helping others build strength from the inside out
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. Like most people walking a purpose-driven path, my journey has had some real turning points. One of the biggest was the Surfside collapse, where I lost my cousin, her two daughters, and her husband. That tragedy shook my family to its core and changed everything for us. My cousin was a devoted yogi, and during that time, I held space at the Surfside grounds to teach yoga creating moments of breath, grounding, and community for others who were grieving. That experience made me realize just how deeply movement and breath can hold people, even in their darkest moments.
Not long after, I went through a season that tested me in every way emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It was one of those chapters where life strips you down and forces you to rebuild from the ground up. I had to find my strength again, piece by piece, and relearn how to trust myself. That period broke me open but also woke something up in me a fire, a deeper sense of purpose.
Leaving behind the security of a clinical setting after years of mentorship and steady work was part of that leap. I knew if I wanted to build something meaningful, something that was mine, I had to step fully into the unknown. It wasn’t easy, but it was real.
Those moments were heavy, but they shaped me. They taught me resilience, self-trust, and how to lead with heart over fear. Every obstacle added a layer of depth to who I am as a woman, as a teacher, and as a guide.
As you know, we’re big fans of Aligned Training . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is called Aligned Training, and honestly, it’s more than just a business to me it’s my way of helping people reconnect with their bodies in a real, intentional way. I focus on form-focused strength training, mobility, posture re-education, and restorative yoga practices that build the body from the inside out.
My background is rooted in both medical and movement science, so everything I do comes from a mix of clinical experience and a love for functional movement. I spent years working in a sports therapy setting, and over time I developed my own method that blends biomechanics, mobility, strength training, and breathwork. I’ve worked with everyone from everyday people to sports athletes, helping them move better, get stronger, and feel more connected to their bodies.
I work primarily through private one-on-one training sessions, where I design specialized programs to help people get out of pain, move with confidence, and live life better. Each program is tailored to the individual their posture, their body mechanics, and their real-life goals.
I’m also recognized by NASM as a Safe Mobility Specialist and have been featured on their page multiple times, which I’m really proud of because it reflects the quality and intention behind my work.
What makes Aligned Training different is the energy and depth behind it. It’s not about pushing through reps or just “working out” it’s about moving intelligently, building stability, improving alignment, and creating a body that feels strong and supported for the long run.
I’ve also built a growing community through collaborations with studios, wellness spaces, and events that combine movement, breath, and holistic practices. I teach specialized classes like Pelvic Floor Reconditioning, Aligned Mobility Flow, and Restorative Yoga & Breath, which are all designed to help people strengthen their foundation, open up their mobility, and regulate their nervous system.
At the end of the day, Aligned Training isn’t just a brand it’s a movement philosophy. My mission is to help people feel strong, grounded, and truly at home in their bodies.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, movement was part of everyday life. My dad was really into working out and boxing, so our home was always full of energy. I can still remember watching him train. On the weekends, he’d take me, my mom, and my siblings fishing. It was a family thing. My mom, being the sweet soul she was, would always go along for the ride just because it was fun. Those mornings were simple but so special the kind of memories that stay with you forever.
I grew up with two siblings my little brother boxed as an amateur, and my sister was full of joy and spark. Our family is Cuban my parents came to the U.S. in the 80s and that culture was alive in everything we did. Our family gatherings were loud, warm, and unforgettable: dominoes, dancing, music blasting, food everywhere, and cousins running around like crazy.
My mom was the heart of it all a kind, beautiful woman who loved us deeply and cared for us with so much grace. And my grandparents on her side, my abuela and abuelo, were the foundation of so many of those memories. Their home was always filled with the smell of good Cuban food and coffee, their laughter, and this deep sense of love and Cuban tradition.
Those early years shaped everything for me. Movement was in my bones, but so was family, culture, and heart. That foundation my family, my roots, and the energy I grew up with still lives in everything I do today.
