Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Segura.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The daughter of a single mom, a proud Gen-Xer, and a latchkey kid, Nina Segura founded Metaspire Consulting in 2005 after a 17-year career at American Express, where she led global initiatives that saved the company hundreds of millions of dollars.
In 2010, she fired herself—from her own company and from the constant drive to do more and sign more blue-chip clients—after realizing she had confused her worth with her work. On a quest to discover what creates a meaningful and prosperous life, she wrote the best-selling book Every Day Is Friday: The ACTT Blueprint for Leaders & Entrepreneurs, endorsed by Eric Yuan, CEO of Zoom.
Today, Nina focuses on supporting business leaders who have built their companies to create freedom—yet somehow find that their business now depends entirely on them. If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality that has been most important to my success is curiosity grounded in courage. Curiosity allows me to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and see opportunities where others might see obstacles. Courage gives me the strength to take bold action—to pivot when needed, to challenge old patterns, and to lead with authenticity and heart. That balance of curiosity and courage helps me stay connected to people, purpose, process, and possibility—which is at the core of everything I teach, coach, and live through Metaspire and the Every Day Is Friday Way.
