Life & Work with Andres Vargas of Im in Davie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Vargas.

Hi Andres, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey in real estate started when I was just 18–20 years old, full of ambition and curiosity. I got my first hands-on experience fixing and flipping homes for my best friend’s aunt. We were young, eager, and willing to get our hands dirty, literally. I learned the ropes by doing the work myself, from renovations to problem-solving on the job site.

That early experience sparked a passion for real estate that quickly turned into something bigger. My best friend and I decided to take a leap of faith and we raised funds from nothing for our very first investment property. It wasn’t easy, but our dedication paid off. By the time we completed that project, we had not only built sweat equity but walked away with a substantial return and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in this business.

I got my start in the DMV area (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia), where I learned the value of hustle, strategy, and relationship-building. Eventually, I made the move to South Florida, where I expanded my career as both a licensed real estate agent and investor. Today, I continue to blend my passion for helping clients with my eye for smart investment opportunities, whether it’s finding the perfect home or identifying the next great flip.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t a smooth road, actually, it was the bumpiest one. The journey was filled with disappointments, trial and error, and plenty of frustration. But over time, I came to realize that every setback is a hidden lesson. Every contingency carries a teaching moment and you just have to be sharp enough to recognize it and resilient enough to overcome it when it shows up again.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Today, I specialize in working with foreign investors and am always on the lookout for that next great renovation opportunity. Whether it’s identifying undervalued properties or navigating complex deals, I thrive in situations that require creativity and strategy. Problem-solving is my strongest asset and anyone who knows me will tell you the same.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
my ability to solve problems
