Hi Carlos, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always felt a deep vocation for the field of mental health; From empathy, the desire to serve and help others have been fundamental engines that guided my decision to dedicate myself professionally to this field, understanding this work as a genuine service to the community. I prepared academically by studying a bachelor’s in Psychology, a master’s degree in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy, four university specializations in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology and a doctorate in Clinical Hypnosis, complementing my training with various additional courses. I am also a member of different Boards and associations of Clinical Hypnosis, with their respective certifications.
I have found that most of the situations that affect us have their origin in the subconscious, and that clinical hypnosis is an ideal tool to access that dimension, allowing us to explore the deepest corners of the mind and make conscious what remains hidden. In this way, it is possible to repair what is necessary inside us, both mentally and emotionally.
The development process was not easy, as it required designing an efficient method, capable of generating significant changes in a few sessions, in accordance with customer expectations. This involved extensive research and development work in which various techniques were combined, thus achieving a comprehensive, dynamic session with the best therapeutic elements. As for the growth of Violeta Luz Therapy, the progress has been gradual; We started in 2019 with small steps and, since then, we have consolidated our presence in the market, standing out particularly among the Spanish-speaking public.
Today, we have many satisfied customers and a positive reputation that supports the excellence of our services over more than five years of experience. My professional training is continuous, since I consider that permanent study is essential to optimize the quality of the care we offer. I have a great passion for progress and for observing the well-being of Violeta Luz Therapy’s clients; additionally, I serve as a member of the US Army Reserve, which I perceive as my contribution to this great nation.
As I look back and contemplate the road traveled, I feel deep gratitude for all the people who have trusted me and Violeta Luz Therapy to transform their lives. Every story, every breakthrough, and every smile recovered inspires me to keep learning and giving my best, convinced that mental health is the key to well-being and fulfillment. I hope that my passion, dedication and commitment transcend beyond words and reach the hearts of those who seek a real opportunity for change, because I firmly believe that together we can rewrite stories and build a brighter future for all.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Market insertion is a complex process, especially in private practice, where in addition to offering quality services, it is essential to implement appropriate strategies to respond to the demands of the competitive environment. Organizational aspects require special attention and are one of the many factors to be strengthened.
Likewise, leading and sustaining a company in the mental health sector entails facing additional challenges, highlighting administrative and financial management. It is essential to understand issues related to budgets, resources, taxes and legal obligations, areas that are commonly left out of the main academic training in psychology or therapy. The development of effective marketing strategies is essential to position yourself in a competitive market, as well as to adapt to technological innovations and digital trends, including presence on social networks and the use of virtual platforms for service.
On the other hand, the formation and management of solid work teams requires specific skills in recruitment, training and leadership, always maintaining an ethical and harmonious environment. Managing economic uncertainty, fluctuations in service demand, and regulatory changes in the industry requires resilience and the ability to constantly adapt.
Equally relevant has been the continuous professional and personal updating, essential to maintain high standards of excellence. Ongoing training makes it possible to respond to the individual needs of each client and to optimise the effectiveness of the interventions implemented.
The balance between performance in Violeta Luz Therapy and service in the U.S. Army Reserve constitutes an additional challenge that has promoted disciplined, resilient and service-oriented development, contributing significantly to professional and personal strengthening.
The journey has been characterized by numerous challenges, but each experience overcome has provided significant learning and has consolidated the commitment to contribute to the mental and emotional well-being of those who trust in the work done.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Those who know me usually highlight empathy at work, where ethics, respect and harmony prevail, as well as my constant curiosity to learn and keep up with advances in mental health. My passion for good service is fueled by continuous training and openness to adapt to changes, both professionally and personally.
Of all this journey, what I value most are the lessons that each challenge overcome at the head of a company in the private sector has left me, always seeking to balance professional life and military service. Each difficulty overcome has strengthened my commitment to provide genuine, humane and close solutions to those who trust in my work.
I think what really makes the difference in my work is being able to combine my experience, my vocation for leadership and the values learned in military service. This allows me to work every day from discipline, resilience and, above all, empathy, offering comprehensive care where each person feels listened to and accompanied.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Although at some point I would have liked to have the guidance of a mentor, the truth is that I could not find that figure. I believe that, today, market dynamics have diluted the traditional and romantic concept of the mentor; that person who accompanies the first steps, educates and opens doors, thus forming a successor. The reality of today’s professional environment demands constant innovation, something that a mentor in the classic sense can hardly provide, as competition demands reinventing the way services are offered and connected with customers. Therefore, I believe that this is a process that each individual interested in promoting their own project or venture should undertake.
Adapting to market demands requires permanent updating in marketing strategies, monitoring technological advances and adopting styles in line with contemporary demands. This is a job focused on building influence and personal branding, which involves forging new paths rather than just following routes already trodden. Such an approach represents the current trend and is a key factor for a company’s survival and success in the competitive environment.
As a piece of advice, I would encourage you to trust your ability to learn and adapt, without being afraid to open yourself up to new experiences or seek support from those around you. The professional and personal path is rarely linear, and while the traditional mentor figure may be less common today, there are always opportunities to grow through collaboration, curiosity, and authenticity. Don’t underestimate the value of building genuine relationships, listening, and contributing from your own experience; Your journey can inspire others while also enriching your own development. Remember that every step counts and that, sometimes, the best learning comes from challenges and the ability to reinvent yourself.
