Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliana Azarian.
Hi Eliana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Right out of my master’s program in 2018,I began working in a community mental health company, providing home based therapy to low income households where my world view was changed and molded to consider the lack of high quality care for those who need it. I also began seeing stoneman douglas clients and began molding my work as a trauma specialist. We had high volume of patients which limits time dedicated on each case. From there, I began working in the addiction field and quickly uncovered my ability to manage and improve programs to deliver high quality of care and supporting therapist wellness. Within 3-4 years of graduation I became clinical director of a 200 patient facility. I eventually moved to another facility to assist with program enhancement in 2023. I saw the strains therapists endured with high caseloads, low pay, and lack of support. My management experience, program enhancement, and personal feelings shifted to wanting to do better. This was also when I opened my private group practice, InnerWork Counseling, with the goal of taking care of my therapist and providing accessible and high quality care (virtual only). Within 6 months of opening, my world came tumbling down when my sister and niece tragically died in an airplane accident. With the weight of this loss, I chose to take a step back from such a challenging role as clinical director. This allowed me to not only grieve, but find a way to make sure my sister and my nieces legacy lived on. I began the Adina and Aria therapy fund in 2024 to give access to high quality of care through low or free counseling services. Now 2025, I have a 6 therapist team and am running a successful group practice where all my experience has come to fruition. I focus on giving back over profits. Taking care of my therapists alongside my patients. And creating a practice that goes above and beyond by having a treatment team approach which allows us to work together to help every patient.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not in the slightest. Major trauma/loss right within 6 months of opening my business.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Learn from my model when it comes to therapist treatment and treatment team approaches within private practice.
