I’m Alexa Núñez, a Venezuelan fashion designer with nearly 25 years of experience in the fashion industry. Like many women, I often struggled to find dresses that truly fit real bodies — because most of us don’t fit into just one size. That’s what inspired me to create ByAlexas Atelier Studio in 2021, based in Tamarac, Florida, just minutes from Fort Lauderdale.
At my atelier, we design and handcraft dresses from scratch — bridal gowns, mother-of-the-bride, evening, and special occasion wear — all tailored precisely to each woman’s measurements. I specialize in plus sizes and take pride in celebrating every body type.
Beyond the dress, I offer full image consulting: helping clients choose the right silhouette, undergarments, accessories, hair, and makeup. We also provide bridal alterations, so every detail feels perfect.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all — the road hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge has shaped who I am as a designer and as a woman. When I started ByAlexas Atelier Studio, one of my biggest struggles was earning trust in a new market and educating clients about the value of custom-made fashion. Many people didn’t understand how much work, detail, and emotional connection go into creating a gown from scratch. I still working on it.
Another challenge was balancing creativity with the business side — managing production, deadlines, and clients, all while maintaining the artistic vision that defines my brand.
But the biggest reward has been seeing women of all body types look at themselves in the mirror and finally say, “This is me. I’ve never felt so beautiful.” That moment makes every struggle worth it.

At ByAlexas Atelier Studio, I specialize in designing and creating custom-made dresses for brides, mothers of the bride, and women celebrating life’s most meaningful moments. Every piece is handcrafted from scratch, starting with an original sketch and tailored precisely to each woman’s measurements, body shape, and personality.
I’m best known for my attention to detail, personalized experience, and commitment to inclusivity — especially for plus-size women who often struggle to find designs that truly celebrate their curves. What sets my work apart is not just the dress itself, but the complete image experience I offer — from the very first consultation to the final fitting.
I personally guide each client through a full image consultation, helping her choose the right silhouette, undergarments, accessories, hairstyle, and makeup — so she feels confident, radiant, and completely herself from head to toe.
What makes me most proud is witnessing that magical moment when a woman looks in the mirror and realizes the dress was made not just for her, but with her. That emotional connection is what makes my work truly meaningful.
What makes you happy?
FASHION IS MY PASSION — it’s what truly makes me happy. Designing allows me to express creativity, emotion, and purpose all at once. Every time I bring a client’s vision to life, I feel a deep sense of joy and fulfillment.
What moves me most is seeing the transformation — when a woman puts on her custom dress and suddenly stands taller, smiles brighter, and feels beautiful and confident. That moment reminds me why I do what I do.
Fashion, for me, isn’t just about clothes; it’s about empowerment, self-love, and storytelling through design. That’s what keeps my heart inspired every single day.
