We recently had the chance to connect with Angelica Duran and have shared our conversation below.
Angelica, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
We live in a world that’s constantly on the go; everything is fast, faster, and even faster. But lately, I’ve been feeling called to slow down. Even though the world expects us to keep moving quickly, I’ve been sensing it’s time to pause. To wake up and truly enjoy the morning. To take time to plan my day and reflect on what I feel called to do.
Slowing down hasn’t been easy for me. I’ve always been someone who moved fast, always onto the next thing. I’ve realized that in all that speed, I was rarely present enough to fully enjoy what I was doing. My focus was always on what came next.
Now, as I embrace this slower pace, I’m noticing something beautiful: I’m actually experiencing my life. I’m learning to enjoy what I do and to become aware of what I don’t. There’s peace in the pause.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Angelica Duran, a Miami-based real estate agent guided by faith and purpose. I’m passionate about helping people find homes that feel aligned with who they are, spaces that inspire peace, and joy. My approach blends elegance with authenticity, creating a real estate experience that’s both meaningful and refined.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother taught me the true meaning of work and independence. From a young age, she showed me the importance of being a confident, self-reliant woman who takes pride in what she does. She also taught me the value of professionalism in how I speak, engage with others, and present myself, and to always find joy and purpose in my work.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could tell my younger self one kind thing, it would be this: don’t worry. Life has a way of working itself out. Enjoy each day as it comes, and let go of the “should haves.” The world will always pressure you to have a plan, to know what’s next, but don’t forget to simply live in the present. That’s where peace truly is.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
What really matters to me is my faith. My closest friends would tell you that my relationship with God is at the center of everything I do. My faith grounds me, guides me, and is something I protect above all else. I believe this world was created by God, and that each of us were designed with a unique purpose — to live in His glory and reflect His love through our lives.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I pause, breathe, and draw near to God.
