Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Flynn.
Hi Caroline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I first found Pilates in high school through physical therapy after a knee injury. I had a dance background, so the rhythm and discipline really resonated in my body. I immediately fell in love with how it made me feel—strong, supported, and connected. I ended up in NY for culinary school, but eventually made my way back to Florida after having my oldest. Even while pursuing my career in the culinary field, I kept teaching in my free time. It kept me feeling grounded and intentional and provided me with some really special connections. After my second pregnancy, I stepped away from the culinary industry and decided to follow through with this path full time.
My original vision for Ritual Body Pilates was to create a space focused on perinatal support, an area I saw was deeply underserved. I signed my first lease not knowing the pandemic was coming, and COVID quickly shifted my journey into primarily private, one-on-one sessions. With a strong and consistent client base, that time shaped the foundation of what is now Ritual Body Pilates—a boutique full time studio with intentional, highly personalized instruction. We work with all ages and abilities, from beginners to seasoned teachers, and anyone looking for a healthy fitness landscape. We now offer private sessions, small group classes, teacher training, and continuing education.
Ultimately, my goal with Ritual Body Pilates is to create a space that feels intentional, supportive, and elevating—where every detail matters and every person feels seen. I really pride myself on keeping the studio inclusive and accessible, not exclusive or trendy. We want everyone who walks in to experience movement as a meaningful ritual in their everyday life. Today, with my team of three—myself, Tanya Clark, and Sofya Pyari—we’re proud to hold space for people to feel stronger, healthier, and more at home in their bodies.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! But it has felt authentic and natural in its progression. When I first signed my lease, I had no idea that COVID was about to hit. The timing forced me to completely reimagine how I would serve clients, shifting almost entirely into private, one-on-one training in order to survive. In hindsight, that challenge ended up shaping the studio in a positive way—it deepened my approach and helped me focus on highly personalized care. It allowed me to be really intentional about the space I wanted to take up in the fitness world.
Another major challenge has been the learning curve of owning a business that’s growing in real time, right alongside my own skillset. Balancing the demands of time, responsibility, and family is something I am continually trying to improve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What sets Ritual Body Pilates apart is the depth of our teaching team and the care we bring to every client experience. Our instructors are rich in knowledge, continually pursuing education and growth, which allows us to offer specialized support for prenatal and postpartum clients, injury recovery, scoliosis, and beyond. We believe Pilates should feel like a ritual—intentional, grounding, and elevating—and that philosophy shapes everything we do, from the way we teach movement to the smallest details in the studio and even our curated retail. Above all, we are proud to create a space that is warm and welcoming with high-quality movement at any stage of life.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
More than anything, we want people to know they’re welcome here. Our studio is rooted in thoughtful teaching, an inclusive community, and intentional details throughout the studio—designed to elevate the everyday. Pilates has gained so much momentum in recent years, but there is so much more to explore beyond the “reformer” and “mat.” At Ritual Body Pilates, we’re passionate about understanding the beauty of the system as a whole and honoring its depth, while still making it approachable and meaningful for every stage of life.
