Today we’d like to introduce you to Lily Lindquist.
Hi Lily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m the founder of LINQ Project, a marketing agency dedicated to the motorsport and luxury sectors, with a strong emphasis on automotive. My story is a long one with many twists and turns.
You could say my career began in modeling, while at the same time I was developing marketing skills in areas like graphic design, social media, event planning, and web development. I immersed myself in everything around me and learned through observation. Through natural networking, my work continued to evolve until the time guided me to establish everything I was doing as an agency.
Today, we oversee social media, branding, graphic design, digital strategy, event planning, activations, photography, and videography for incredible brands like Motul and Midnight Express, while also collaborating closely with partners such as IMSA, Mercedes-AMG, Aston Martin Racing, etc.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t believe anyone who says their journey was smooth. Nothing I’ve done has ever been simple or linear. The earliest challenge for me personally was the judgment of people who tried to confine me to a box for superficial reasons. It used to really bother me and I did a lot in spite of that.
I graduated high school early, never finished college, and don’t come from wealth. Everything I know about automotive, motorsport, and luxury, I taught myself. I had no mentor to guide me in running a business, only fragments of wisdom gathered from listening to others’ stories. Much of my path has been built by making it up as I went, learning through trial and fire.
Creation is always difficult, destruction is easy. The hardest fight is summoning the patience, energy, and mental fortitude to keep moving forward when the temptation to burn it all down calls your name.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run a marketing agency that specializes in luxury lifestyle industries, race cars, collector cars, high-performance boats, and hopefully aviation one day. We market not only the products but also the emotions and experiences that define that lifestyle.
I believe both myself and my agency are recognized for this work, having built experience over time. What sets me apart is my approach, in a world cluttered with lazy or tacky marketing, I aim to create art that evokes feeling. I bring a much needed modern and feminine perspective to a traditionally masculine space.
My mindset, loudly challenging conventions and acting on them, is what sets me apart. What we create is almost rebellious by nature, rooted in my own journey from being a grid girl to carving out a meaningful place in this industry. We are mavericks.
I’m most proud of how far we’ve evolved from where we started and the new heights we continue to reach and achieve. The community built with my team and our partners feels like a dream. I’m deeply passionate about our work and believe it should always be a joyful, expressive experience. I think we truly have a lot of fun doing very difficult things and without that spirit the spark of creativity dies. It is an honor to be here, I never forget that.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If anything stands out from reviewing my messages and job applications, it’s how strikingly unselfaware people can be. It seems the phrase ‘the world doesn’t revolve around you’ never quite sank in for some people as children.
If you want to succeed, you have to give it everything, tirelessly. If you ask for something, be prepared to offer something in return. That’s the reality: business is transactional. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. There is no reward without sacrifice
I understood that very early on and that’s step one. Beyond that, you either make it or you don’t. Those who succeed always know, deep down, that if they truly try, they can. Even when the world felt like it was crumbling around me, I held onto the belief that I could push through. The universe rewards those who bet on themselves because how else can you expect anyone else to believe in you? It all comes back to sacrifice and reward.
Being authentic and true to yourself can take you to extraordinary places. Each new stage gives you the chance to reassess and decide where you want to go next. That kind of autonomy is a rare gift. Always shoot for the moon.
In the same breath, that advice won’t resonate with everyone. Be careful of whose advice you buy is a great line from a song I listen to regularly… “Everybody’s Free” by Baz Luhrmann.
