Check Out Valerie Saravia’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Saravia.

Hi Valerie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started by crafting with my mom, she used to buy ceramic angels and we would spend our weekends painting, (my mom had an angel obsession at one point). It became a hobby that escalated into other ceramic pieces. When I found out I was pregnant for the first time (18 years ago!), my mom, aunt and I decided that we would do everything ourselves for the baby shower. Planning, décor, games, prizes, food! OMG, you name it we wanted it and our mentality became “we got this”. I still had no idea HOW MUCH WORK, went into parties at that time, I was satisfied with streamers around poles, a little cluster of balloons on top and to me that was everything.

As a mom of 2 (now 3!), I loved planning special parties for my kids. When my 2nd daughter’s 3rd birthday approached, she was obsessed with Trolls. I wanted to make it extra special, so I envisioned bright colors, electric hair, and flowers everywhere. I reached out to a friend who made paper flowers and in my best Poppy voice, begged her to teach me! (I called her my Guru) She did, and I was hooked! I spent about 2 years creating paper flowers, learning to let my creativity flow.

I have a literal Pinterest type mind, and it has been my strength in this field. Once, I said out loud, “ok I can do this” it began, I would offer my time and have a few friends and family spend money on materials just to see how it would work. I was cutting my own backdrops, bought more tools than I knew how to use but I figured it out and made it happen. They weren’t perfect but they worked, and the imperfections were mainly in my head, I’d mention it and they’d reassure me it was fine (I think they were lying lol) but their support meant everything, nonetheless. It was a boost of confidence, like “ok you really can do this”.

That’s how Petals & Party Creations by V was born, a labor of love that blossomed from humble beginnings. Seeing how my creativity brought happiness to others, the seed that was planted without me realizing began to bloom, and my dream took shape. Now, as clients are describing their vision, the layout is happening in my mind. From the moment they first step into the space, to the party favors on the way out, every intricate detail shows and I want my client to know, I got you. It’s been an amazing journey, I’m so grateful for the creativity, chaos, and joy that comes with it all.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any small business, the biggest obstacle is the dependency on your business to survive the day-to-day. Prior to PNP Creations by V I always worked for someone, your typical 9-5, plus a commute. But, I am also a mother of 3, for a long time, I was also a single mother. And being a mother, is never only about financially providing, you have to be present for all moments. I was put in a position a few times where I had to choose between being a parent or being an employee. Being a parent, especially a present one to my children will always win. Some opportunities didn’t last and I was ok with it, because I was going to figure it out. I decided it was time to use my “outlet” of creativity, as an income opportunity, so I boldly stepped into entrepreneurship. My plan wasn’t set, but I had faith and I knew God would walk-me through it. I started receiving inquires from old clients, new clients, business was beginning to pick up.

It can be challenging obtaining clients that are willing to spend what a full service event costs, people see the cost of a product, and expect to only be charged the amount the product cost, but, what about my time, my ideas, the setup, the break-down, the small details that the client may not have considered. We all want innovated, evolving ideas, keeping up with the latest theme, but, we want the old-school price. So, I try to help where I can, because I understand that we don’t all have the means but we still want to create a beautiful celebration for our loved ones.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our goal is to create spaces designed to be a sanctuary of happiness. A place to unwind, where time slows down, and all that matters is the love, laughter, and celebration shared with those around you.

We work closely with you to get the vibe just right, ensuring every piece reflects your unique style. Every event is a masterpiece waiting to happen and we’re the perfectionists who settle for nothing less.

I’m incredibly proud of our growth, the evolution of my designs, and all we’ve accomplished. Every milestone achieved has only fueled my excitement and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has been a game changer in both my personal and professional journey. Being in the right place at the right time has led me to meet incredible people who’ve presented life changing opportunities. I’m especially grateful to my clients who’ve trusted me with their special moments blindly, even from out of state. Their trust in me has played a key role in my success, and I’m grateful for the chance to do what I love. If thats not luck, I don’t know what is.
