Meet Sophie Malahieude of Sophie Malahieude

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie Malahieude.

Sophie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Originally from France, I’ve lived in Germany and now the United States—experiences that shaped a rich, multicultural perspective I bring into my work. My life philosophy is deeply influenced by the Vedic disciplines of Yoga and Ayurveda, which I first encountered in 1997 while living in Germany. Although I didn’t speak the language fluently, I felt an instant, intuitive connection to these ancient teachings. I learned through my heart. Yoga became a path of self-realization, and Ayurveda a guide for living in harmony with nature. Through them, I began to feel spiritually connected—not only to my deeper self, but also to the world and people around me.

In 2003, I moved to the U.S., continuing my studies while raising two young children. As we moved from place to place over the years, I leaned on the mindful principles I had embraced: staying present, practicing non-attachment, and engaging in self-inquiry. These values helped me navigate life’s constant changes with greater awareness and peace.

As my children grew into adulthood, I felt called to support others in reconnecting with themselves. I saw many moms, like myself, who had poured their energy into caring for others. Along the way, parts of ourselves can get tucked away. And then life shifts—through loss, an empty nest, a move, a new job, or a change in a relationship—and uncertainty emerges. We begin to question who we are and what we want in life. I witnessed how self-inquiry, at the heart of coaching, wellness counseling, and yogic philosophy, offers a way forward. It allows us to pause, reflect, and make intentional choices aligned with who we’re becoming.

Today, I offer my services from a place grounded in lived experience and a diverse background that includes life coaching, nutrition, Yoga, Ayurveda, and mindfulness. These tools continue to guide my own inner work and have taught me to approach others with openness and without judgment—qualities essential to the coaching process.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. When my children were young, one of the first challenges I faced was learning to integrate into different cultures while supporting my family and keeping our roots alive. Later, my mother passed away the same year that my firstborn went to college, and I suddenly felt without guidance—a deep void that brought grief and uncertainty.

These moments were not easy to live through, but they became powerful teachers. They showed me the kindness of others, and the inner resources I didn’t know I had. It inspired me to study about grief, resilience, create support groups, and write a book. What once felt like obstacles became stepping stones, shaping not only who I am but also how I guide others today.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work brings together yoga, Ayurveda, and life coaching into a holistic approach to well-being. I specialize in guiding women over 50—often after years of caring for others—who are ready to reclaim their health, restore emotional balance, and rediscover their sense of purpose. What sets me apart is how I weave together ancient wisdom with modern coaching tools, so that the women I work with feel supported not only in body, but also in mind and spirit.

I’m most proud that my brand is rooted in authenticity and compassion. I walk alongside my clients as they explore who they are now and who they want to become. I offer one-on-one sessions in two ways: coaching, for women who enjoy self-inquiry and want to find clarity, their own answers, and the actions to move forward; or consulting, for those who prefer personal recommendations about nutrition, self-care, and lifestyle.

At its heart, my brand is about freedom: the freedom to live with vitality, emotional resilience, and joy at any stage of life. I want readers to know that it’s never too late to reconnect with yourself, and that my work is here to support that journey—whether through movement, breathwork, nourishing practices, or deep self-inquiry. You fix you time range for your transformation, we make it happened.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t really believe in luck, at least not in the traditional sense. I see life more as the universe placing opportunities along our path. Sometimes they come as blessings, sometimes as challenges, but each one is an invitation to grow. What may look like “good luck” to others has often been the result of years of dedication, practice, and being open to receive what was meant for me.

Even the difficult times—the ones that might be seen as “bad luck”—have held hidden gifts. Navigating cultural transitions, or redefining myself after my children left home all felt heavy in the moment. But those experiences were opportunities that shaped who I am today and how I serve others.

So, for me, it’s not about luck but about awareness: noticing what the universe places in front of me and choosing to step into it with trust and courage.
