Hi Leslie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Only Med Glam with a simple idea — to create a space where beauty, wellness, and science come together in a way that feels personal and luxurious. As a nurse practitioner, I always had a passion for helping people feel their best, but I wanted to go beyond just offering treatments. I wanted clients to walk in and immediately feel cared for, confident, and comfortable investing in themselves.
In the beginning, it was just me, a small studio, and a big dream. I worked one-on-one with clients, focusing on listening to their goals and delivering results that felt natural and empowering. Slowly, word spread, and what started as a solo venture began to grow into something much bigger than I imagined.
Today, Only Med Glam has become a boutique medspa known for blending advanced aesthetics with wellness — from injectables and laser treatments to IV therapy and skin rejuvenation. But at the heart of it all, my mission is still the same: to inspire confidence, elevate self-care, and help people glow inside and out.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Obstacles & Challenges
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — like any entrepreneurial journey, there have been plenty of ups and downs. Starting out on my own meant wearing every hat: provider, business owner, marketer, and even interior designer at times. Balancing the clinical side of patient care with the business side was a big learning curve.
Another challenge has been building trust and standing out in such a competitive industry. In Miami, there’s no shortage of medspas, so I knew I had to create something that felt truly different — not just offering treatments, but creating an experience rooted in safety, wellness, and luxury.
Like many small businesses, I’ve also faced financial hurdles — from investing in the right equipment to managing overhead while still wanting to give clients the very best. There were moments of doubt, but those challenges pushed me to get creative, stay resilient, and keep my focus on why I started: to empower people to feel confident and cared for.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to do it all alone. Finding mentors — whether formal or informal — has been such an important part of my journey. My advice is to seek out people who inspire you not only by their success, but also by their values and the way they treat others. A true mentor will guide you, challenge you, and remind you to keep pushing forward when things get tough.
For me, networking has worked best when it’s authentic. I’ve built some of my strongest relationships by simply reaching out, asking questions, and showing genuine interest in other professionals’ journeys. Whether it’s connecting with local entrepreneurs, collaborating with other medical providers, or attending trainings and conferences, I’ve found that staying open and curious creates opportunities you might not expect.
What’s worked especially well is approaching networking with a mindset of giving, not just receiving. Sharing knowledge, supporting others, and creating community has led to connections that have helped me grow personally and professionally.
