Hi celena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off as a young mom just finishing massage therapy school and jumping into work at a chiropractors office. There are so many different directions you can go with massage and I was still getting a feel for what I really wanted to do in my profession. In my journey working for multiple different places and trying out different fields everything from spa massage to casino massage, I really felt the pull towards the medical side of massage. I enjoyed knowing the anatomy of the body and how working certain muscles can relieve pain and even help people become more mobile in their everyday life. I got a job working under a experienced medical massage therapist who was willing to teach me as we worked. And not too long after I went through the process of becoming a licensed medical massage therapist and starting my own practice where I can travel to my clients in the comfort of there home and provide medical services to broward and miami dade county.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely was not smooth, covid brought a lot of challenges with work and a lot of people became weary of having contact with massage therapy in general. But Once it died down other challenges come up like trying to balance starting a business and raising a family with 4 small children. Work life balance is important and when you have clients you want to make sure they are happy with your service and seeing results. But you also want to separate that from your home life which can sometimes be a challenge

I am a mobile massage therapist serving mainly broward county and some miami dade areas. I specialize in medical massage therapy for people of all ages and stages of life from geriatric clients to prenatal clients. My goal as a therapist is to deeply understand how the body functions and how each system works together so I can effectively help relieve pain, restore mobility and help my clients move through life with greater comfort and freedom. With my business theres no need to get in a car and stress south florida traffic because i come to you. I bring all materials needed all you do is provide the space. I have a office located in pembroke pines fl for those who are not comfortable with in home visits
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I was born and raised in miami-dade county and I consider it home, the beaches the tropical weather. I could never bring myself to live anywhere else but ai do have to say I could definitely do without the traffic. sitting on i-95 for hours at a time is not in my fun book.
