Hi Alejandro, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Angelina is the daughter of the original owner. He initially opened a frozen yogurt shop back in 2010. Sales from froyo weren’t enough to sustain the business so he began adding other items to the menu until it became the only true brunch spot in the midtown area. In 2022 we upgraded the look and feel of the cafe to re-establish ourselves as THE coffee and breakfast neighborhood spot for midtown. Using a clean, minimalist style, that was still inviting we kept the most valuable items on the menu and added a few more that we thought the neighborhood needed. We also began sourcing very high quality ingredients, playing with food texture and flavors, all while still being able to offer affordable prices. We aim to be a place people trust, where they can go for multiple occasions, whether its a coffee, a quick juice, breakfast, a quick lunch bite, meet friends, post workout meal or smoothie, etc.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I dont think its ever a smooth road with a restaurant. #1: Hiring a good team, #2: lots of competition in the immediate area, #3. consumers speding less and #4 rising costs.
