Charisma Adore of Fort Lauderdale on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Charisma Adore and have shared our conversation below.

Charisma, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I would say most recently it would be my newest album, Love Charisma. I worked so hard on it and recorded it in the most unconventional places just to make it happen. I decided to take advice from other songwriters and write what I know about, and it was a WILD journey. I wanted to include 12 songs, I ended up with 28 and decided to include them all on the album. I guess I had a lot to say haha! Nobody seen how hard I worked on the album but I’m proud of myself for doing what I had to do and committing to the project and leaning into being uncomfortable.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey Friends I’m Charisma Adore, your favorite glamorous troublemaker with a voice as big as my personality and a look as sharp as my tongue! Not just a queen of the stage, but also a master of makeup and fashion, I know how to paint a face, turn a lewk, and serve pure fantasy before even hitting the mic. With a flair for camp, confidence, and high drama, I try to blend artistry and attitude in everything I do. Whether she’s crafting a show stopping melody, styling a jaw dropping fit, belting a power ballad, or dropping a sassy bop, Charisma is all about living life boldly and making sure everyone feels a little more fabulous.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
I wouldn’t say it’s a who. But I think I was taught the most about work through trial and error. Most of my life has been full of ups and downs, mostly downs, that have shaped who I’ve become. Both good and bad experiences allowed me to keep evolving and understand what I want from this world and how far I’m willing to go to make it happen. If you’re not willing to work hard and play the game you’ll never win.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are more than enough. The voices telling you that you’re not enough and the perceived thoughts that the world proves those thoughts over and over, are nothing more than a nightmare. One day you will wake up from that nightmare and realize you are all you ever needed. There’s no reason to hide yourself from the world because the ones who are going to accept you for who you are, will be entering your life sooner than you think. Be yourself, unapologetically, and enjoy your ride. You got this!

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m most committed to making my dreams a reality. Ever since I was 12 years old, I’ve wanted to be a performer. I loved singing and acting. I wanted to be the next Kelly Clarkson. I’ve been chasing these dreams for a very long time and have no plans on giving up. I just wrote a brand new album of 28 songs called Love Charisma. My goal is to continue to get more honest and open and lean into the shame when creating. I’ve learned I create my best work when I do.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Making excuses. I would immediately do everything I’ve always wanted to do. I would travel the world and find love and happiness within myself. I would do the things that scare me and conquer my fears. I would live like never before.
