We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sthefany Azevedo. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Sthefany, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One of the biggest misconceptions about Jungla is that it’s only about fitness or that we’re just another CrossFit gym. Our foundation is functional training, designed to help people move better and feel stronger in everyday life. From the start, Paula and I have focused on meeting people where they are, empowering every member, and creating real connections. At Jungla, it’s not about fitting into a mold. It’s about helping people escape the ordinary, embrace their wild side, and realize they’re capable of more than they thought.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sthefany Azevedo, and I am the cofounder of Jungla Training alongside my partner, Paula Leyes. What started as Paula’s dream has become a shared vision that we brought to life together, and over time it has grown into something much bigger than we could have imagined.
Jungla is now more than a place to train, it is a movement that continues to evolve through recovery services, wellness events, and our clothing brand, Jungla Mvmnt. What makes it special is how it keeps expanding while staying true to the same purpose: building a space where people can connect, grow, and embrace their wild side.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I have been blessed to grow up around my dad, who always talked about the importance of working hard and showed us what it takes to manage a business. He taught me by example that discipline and consistency matter.
Throughout my career, I have also had many leaders who shaped the way I see leadership. They taught me the value of being a true leader, not just a boss, guiding, supporting, and empowering others instead of simply giving orders.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
When I first moved from Venezuela to the States, I had to take on different roles that were not related to my career. During that time, I carried a deep fear of not being good enough and of not being able to apply everything I had worked so hard to learn. That fear grew into impostor syndrome, where even when I was doing well, I doubted myself and questioned whether I truly belonged.
Over time, I realized that those challenges were shaping me in ways I could not see at the moment. They taught me resilience, humility, and the importance of trusting my own path. The fear of not being enough still tries to show up sometimes, but instead of letting it hold me back, I now use it as fuel to keep growing, to prove to myself that I am capable, and to remind others that they are too.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Paula’s. She has such a magical mind and is always coming up with ideas for our community. I trust her vision because it always comes from a place of passion and care. Over time, we have built a great way of working together where her creativity and my drive to bring things to life complement each other. It is one of the reasons why Jungla keeps growing in such a meaningful way.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I believe everything we do should come from a place of love and genuine care. When that is at the center, giving your best feels natural, even without recognition. Praise is nice, but it is not the reason I show up. If something no longer feels aligned or meaningful, I would rather move on and find a new path where I can give with purpose.
