Today we’d like to introduce you to Miri Lenoff.
Hi Miri, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I first got into this work in a really unexpected way. A friend asked me how to change the phone number on her website, and she had no idea how to do it. I helped her, and it opened my eyes to how many business owners were stuck with websites they couldn’t update or control. Around the same time, I was noticing how many websites looked terrible. They didn’t reflect the quality of the businesses at all and they didn’t drive people to do business with them.
Those two moments clicked together for me. On one side, I saw how frustrating it was for business owners to feel locked out of their own websites. On the other, I saw how much credibility they were losing just by having something that looked outdated or messy. I realized there was a real need for someone who could not only make sites look professional but also make them easy to manage and part of a bigger marketing picture.
That’s how I started, solving one small problem for a friend, and then deciding to do it better for a lot more people.
But then I realized something bigger, a website is only the first part. You can have the nicest-looking site in the world, but if you’re not staying in touch with people, you’ll disappear from their minds. That’s when I moved into recurring emails. It was the most direct way to keep a conversation going, to build trust, and to actually turn interest into customers.
From there, my work kept expanding. Once I was writing emails, clients started asking for help with funnels, follow-up sequences, and automation. They wanted a complete system, not just pieces. So I built strategies that combined websites, emails, and automation into one clear path.
Today, that’s what I do. I help businesses, from local service providers to international organizations, build marketing that feels simple, trustworthy, and effective. It all started with a missing phone number and a few ugly websites, and it grew into a career where I guide people through every step of making their marketing actually work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges for me is that I didn’t go to college for this. Everything I know about tech and marketing I taught myself, step by step. That meant a lot of trial and error, a lot of Googling at midnight, and learning by doing instead of having a clear roadmap.
At the same time, I’m also a mom of little kids, so it’s been hard to grow a business while raising a family. There’s never really a balance, sometimes work pulls harder, sometimes family does, and it takes constant adjusting.
Another challenge has been the loneliness of this kind of work. I live on Zoom, and while it’s great for connecting, it’s not the same as having people physically around you. I’ve had to push myself to find communities and ways to stay connected so I don’t feel isolated.
And of course, there’s the self-doubt. Everyone goes through it, but when you’re building something on your own, those doubts can feel even louder. Over time, I’ve learned to keep moving forward anyway, to trust the process, and to see mistakes as part of growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of Joles Marketing . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is Joles Marketing, but it actually started as Miri Lenoff Marketing. In the beginning, it was just me, working directly with clients and building everything from websites to email campaigns. Over time, though, I realized I wasn’t just freelancing anymore. I had a team, I had systems, and I was running a full service operation. That’s when I decided to rebrand into an official agency.
With Joles Marketing, the focus is still the same, helping service-based businesses grow through websites, recurring emails, funnels, and automation, but now it’s backed by a structured agency model. What sets us apart is that we don’t just deliver pieces of marketing; we put the entire system together so it feels seamless and actually drives results.
I also created the name in a meaningful name as it’s the initial letters of my kids’ names. It encompasses bringing them together on my journey.
I’m most proud of the fact that my brand grew with me. The rebrand wasn’t just about changing a name, it was about stepping into the bigger vision. Clients trust us because we keep things simple, clear, and tailored to their goals, whether they’re local businesses in Florida or organizations across Latin America.
What I’d want readers to know is that Joles Marketing was built to give entrepreneurs the confidence that their marketing is handled or done WITH them, as we become part of their company so they can focus on running their business, while we focus on making sure their message reaches the right people.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you’re just starting out, my biggest advice is to keep it simple. You don’t need every tool or every strategy on day one. Focus on building relationships, learning what works for you, and staying consistent.
Something I wish I knew early on is that self doubt is normal. I used to think it meant I wasn’t ready, but the truth is everyone goes through it. The difference is whether you let it stop you or keep moving forward anyway.
I’d also say don’t be afraid to invest in community. Working on your own can get lonely, I lived in Zoom for a long time and realized how much I needed real interaction. Find people who understand what you’re building and lean on them.
And finally, remember that you don’t need a degree or a perfect roadmap to make this work. I didn’t go to college for marketing, I taught myself piece by piece. If you’re willing to learn and take action, you can build something real.
