Hidden Gems: Meet Luisa Monsalve of Lu Monsalve Therapy and Training LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luisa Monsalve.

Hi Luisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Colombia, and at 17 I emigrated to Aruba, where I lived for 18 years. Those years shaped me deeply, both personally and professionally. Later, life brought me to the United States to continue my studies and specialize in emotional management. Moving meant I had to rebuild myself as a woman in many ways, but I arrived with a clear goal. What changed along the way was my vision: initially, I came to focus on emotional management in the corporate world, but through my journey I discovered the therapeutic dimension of this work. Today, I not only help businesses and entrepreneurs, but also guide individuals and families through the healing process of emotional management.

For many years I worked in the commercial and business sector. That experience gave me an inside look at how crucial emotional management is when building a company, developing a product, or connecting with clients. I learned firsthand that behind every decision, whether in leadership, teamwork, or consumer behavior, there are emotions that need to be recognized and understood.

Who I am today is also inseparable from my personal history. I come from a family story where my childhood was not easy. Over 25 years ago, searching for ways to heal my own wounds, I found the therapeutic world. I discovered in myself the tools to transform my traumas, and that became the doorway to my calling.

Now, I am an emotional therapist and coach, combining systemic therapy, family constellations, biodecoding, and emotional management. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, entrepreneurs, and companies. I also give seminars, workshops, and conferences—always focused on one message: the importance of appropriate emotional management in every area of life.

What got me here has been a combination of resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to honoring both my story and the stories of those I serve. Every step has taught me that healing is not about perfection, it’s about awareness, love, and the courage to take the next step forward.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been full of challenges that, at the time, felt overwhelming but ultimately shaped the woman and therapist I am today.

Leaving my country at a young age, adapting to new cultures in Aruba and later in the United States, came with moments of loneliness, uncertainty, and the need to constantly rebuild myself. Professionally, transitioning from the corporate world into the therapeutic space required courage to step into something new, while also facing the skepticism that often surrounds emotional and systemic work.

On a personal level, my childhood was not easy, and healing my own wounds became both my greatest challenge and my greatest gift. For more than 30 years, I’ve been committed to my own process of transformation, which allows me today to authentically guide others.

There were moments of financial struggle, of feeling like I had to carry too much responsibility, and times when I questioned whether I was strong enough to continue. But each difficulty reminded me of my purpose: to show others that it’s possible to transform pain into strength and to live with greater awareness and love.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business was created with one mission: to guide people and organizations into transforming the way they relate to their emotions.

I specialize in emotional management, systemic therapy, family constellations, biodecoding, coaching, and NLP Advanced, and I integrate these methods into a practical and accessible approach. I’m known for helping people identify unconscious patterns, release emotional blocks, and reconnect with their own strength, whether they are individuals, families, or companies.

What sets me apart is that I combine therapeutic expertise with corporate experience. For many years I worked in the commercial and business sector, which gave me an insider’s understanding of the emotional needs behind leadership, entrepreneurship, and consumer behavior. Today, I use that knowledge to train companies and entrepreneurs in emotional management while also guiding children, adolescents, couples, and adults in therapy.

Brand-wise, I’m proud that Lu Monsalve Therapy & Training goes beyond one-on-one sessions. My offerings include individual and family therapy, group workshops, corporate trainings, conferences, and digital products such as checklists, workbooks, and online courses. This allows emotional management tools to reach not just my local community, but people worldwide.

At its core, my brand is about transformation through emotional awareness. I want readers to know that emotional management is not something we only need when we are “broken”, it’s a daily practice that helps us live with clarity, build healthier relationships, and grow both personally and professionally.
