My name is Robert Hazard, and I have deep roots in South Florida, having been born and raised in the Miami suburbs and the Florida Keys before establishing my long-term residence in Homestead, FL. From an early age, I demonstrated a strong commitment to both education and professional development. During high school, I participated in the dual enrollment program at the School for Advanced Studies in Homestead, which afforded me the opportunity to earn college credits alongside my secondary education. This academic foundation ultimately led me to Florida International University, where I earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, complemented by specialized certifications in Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
My professional journey began when I was just eight years old, working summers and school breaks at my father’s insurance agency. Those early experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation for customer service. At the age of thirteen, my father encouraged me to broaden my horizons by gaining work experience outside of the family business. That opportunity marked a turning point, as I pursued an internship in the field of computers and electronics. While I had always been fascinated by video games and the internet, it was during this time that my passion for computer networking truly flourished.
Over the course of more than a decade, I advanced from intern to manager and eventually became the owner of Quasar Computers. For the past four years, I have proudly led Quasar as both a business and a community partner. Today, Quasar Computers provides comprehensive IT services to a diverse range of clients across multiple industries. Each project brings unique challenges and opportunities, allowing my team and me to continually expand our expertise while delivering tailored solutions that help our clients succeed.
Beyond technical proficiency, I take pride in the relationships we have built within the Homestead community. Quasar Computers works closely with local leaders, organizations, and businesses, ensuring that our services not only meet technical needs but also contribute to the growth and resilience of the community we call home. Growing up, my father often reminded me that “if it isn’t easy, it’s worth pursuing.” While the phrasing puzzled me as a child, I have come to appreciate the deeper meaning with time: true growth comes from challenge, and smooth roads rarely lead to meaningful destinations. In just four years, I transitioned from managing a team at 35 hours per week to leading my own company, often averaging 85 hours a week as an owner. This shift required me to confront significant challenges, particularly in time management. Overcoming these hurdles taught me the importance of discipline, resilience, and effective organization skills that became second nature as I learned to balance competing priorities and maximize productivity.
Despite these gains, one challenge I continue to work on is establishing a healthier boundary between professional responsibilities and personal life. While I remain deeply committed to my business, I recognize the value of making space for myself and for time with my fiancée. Striking this balance is an ongoing process, but one that is as essential to long-term success as any professional milestone.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Some of my most cherished childhood memories come from the countless weekends I spent with my two closest friends, Mercer Byrd and Kieran Taylor. We would often stay up late into the night, completely immersed in video games and exploring the growing online world together. Those experiences were more than just entertainment—they fostered creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while also sparking the early interest in technology that would later shape my career. Looking back, those nights not only brought joy and camaraderie but also laid the foundation for my enduring passion for computers, networking, and the possibilities of the digital age
