We recently had the chance to connect with Cynthia Toussaint and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Cynthia, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
“Lately, I’ve been finding immense joy in the simple moments of life—sitting in my backyard, listening to the birds chirping, feeling the warmth of the sun, and just taking a deep breath. Those quiet moments give me space to reflect and appreciate how grateful I am to be raising my two boys in a peaceful and loving environment. It’s a reminder that some of the most meaningful things in life—the intangible ones, like peace, gratitude, and connection—can’t be bought, and yet they bring the richest sense of fulfillment.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“I’m Cynthia, also known as “Queen C,” a proud mom and founder of I am Queens. My brand started from my home, born out of a passion to empower and inspire women, and I’m currently in the exciting process of relaunching and rebranding it—bigger, stronger, and better than ever. I’m reminding myself to move thoughtfully and intentionally, not just quickly, as I grow. Beyond business, I am Queens is evolving into a nonprofit organization, because my ultimate goal is to give back, make a tangible impact, and create opportunities that uplift others. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to share this next chapter of transformation and purpose.”
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
“Bonds are often broken by misunderstandings, broken trust, or a lack of empathy. They’re restored through honesty, vulnerability, and consistent effort—listening, showing kindness, and being present can rebuild connection and remind people they are valued.”
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
“The fear that has held me back the most is the fear of failing—of not being able to provide for my children or give them the life they deserve. That fear has pushed me to work harder, but at times it also made me second-guess myself. Over time, I’ve learned to channel that fear into motivation, using it to grow, take calculated risks, and move forward with purpose.”
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
“A cultural value I protect at all costs is integrity—staying true to my morals and beliefs, and believing in myself even when others doubt me. It guides my decisions, shapes my actions, and ensures I lead with authenticity in both life and business.”
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
“I would regret not fully pursuing all my goals—leaving dreams unchased or opportunities unexplored. I want to look back knowing I gave my ambitions my full effort, no matter the outcome.”
