We recently had the chance to connect with Jenn Pierre and have shared our conversation below.
Jenn, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
When I think about the question of intelligence, energy, or integrity, the answer that resonates with me most is energy. Not because I don’t value intelligence or integrity—they matter deeply—but because without energy, neither of those can really breathe.
Energy is life force. It’s the pulse that moves you forward when your mind is foggy or when your moral compass feels heavy from the weight of difficult choices. I’ve met people with brilliant intelligence, who could calculate, analyze, and explain the world in ways that left me in awe—but if they lacked energy, that brilliance just sat there, untouched potential. And I’ve met people with strong integrity, people who stood firm in their values, but if their energy was depleted, their voice didn’t reach as far as it could have, their influence dimmed.
To me, energy is not just physical stamina. It’s presence, it’s vibration, it’s how someone shows up in a room and shifts the atmosphere without saying a word. Energy is contagious—it can spark inspiration, fuel resilience, and ignite creativity. When someone brings energy, they don’t just keep themselves moving; they elevate everyone around them. And in my own life, I’ve seen how energy is the anchor that keeps me showing up, even when logic fails or when doubt whispers.
Intelligence can guide me, and integrity can ground me. But energy is what sustains me. It’s what gets me out of bed, what allows me to pursue dreams that seem bigger than me, what carries me through grief, setbacks, and uncertainty. Energy is the bridge between thought and action, between values and impact. Without it, intelligence is an idea on a shelf and integrity is a quiet principle never acted on.
That’s why I choose energy. Because with it, intelligence can be expressed and integrity can be lived. Energy is the spark that keeps the fire burning—it’s not just important to me, it’s essential.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jenn, and everything I do is rooted in energy—how it moves us, heals us, and connects us. I’m the founder behind Kandee Gems, a creative and wellness-driven brand that blends spirituality, storytelling, and design into experiences that inspire people to see beauty not just in the world, but in themselves. What makes my work unique is that it’s not built on one lane—I allow creativity to flow through many mediums. Some days that means working with clients one-on-one through chakra healing and energy sessions, other days it means writing, designing, or building lifestyle concepts that spark joy, healing, and inspiration.
My journey started from a very personal place—navigating grief, resilience, and the rediscovery of self. Out of that came a mission to create spaces and projects that are not only beautiful, but soulful. Kandee Gems isn’t just a brand; it’s a reflection of my belief that energy and creativity can transform lives. Right now, I’m working on expanding the brand into new platforms—through writing, digital content, and lifestyle collaborations—that bridge the gap between wellness and art. My story is really about turning life’s hardest moments into a source of light for myself and others.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
For me, what breaks the bonds between people is disrespect. It’s not just about harsh words or loud arguments—it can be the quiet dismissals, the lack of acknowledgment, the moments where someone’s value or feelings aren’t honored. Disrespect chips away at trust, and once trust is fractured, the bond starts to unravel.
But what restores those bonds is love. Love in its purest form—patience, understanding, compassion, and forgiveness. Love allows people to come back to the table, to see each other with softer eyes, to choose connection over pride. Love doesn’t erase the hurt, but it creates the space for healing.
Disrespect tears apart, but love builds back stronger. And in my life, I’ve learned that it’s always worth choosing the side of love, because that’s where true restoration lives.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: “You don’t have to carry everything on your own. Trust your light—it’s enough. The right people, the right moments, the right doors will meet you when they’re supposed to. Don’t rush, don’t shrink, just keep shining.”
Because looking back, I realize so much of my younger self was about proving, about holding it all together, about trying to be everything for everyone. I’d remind her that softness is strength, that she’s worthy even when she’s resting, and that her energy will take her further than her fears ever could.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth that’s so foundational in my life that I rarely say out loud is that energy doesn’t lie. I live by that. I can feel when something is aligned or when it’s off, whether it’s with people, opportunities, or even the spaces I walk into. It’s like an unspoken compass that guides me.
Another truth is that love is always the answer, even when it feels like the hardest choice. Love softens, love restores, love creates possibility. I don’t have to explain it—I just know it, and I try to let it lead me.
And maybe the deepest one is that everything I’ve gone through—every loss, every lesson, every joy—wasn’t random. It shaped me for a reason. That’s why I rarely need to articulate it. It just is. It lives in me, and it’s what I build everything else on.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could—and I already do. For me, it’s never been about the praise or the clout. I give my best because it’s who I am, because my energy won’t let me show up halfway. Whether anyone notices or not, I know what I poured into it, and that’s enough for me.
I’ve learned that when you create, heal, or build from a genuine place, the reward isn’t in recognition—it’s in the impact, even if it’s quiet and unseen. My best is a reflection of me, not of who’s clapping.
