janis, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of my music work, I like to play basketball or go biking in the summer. I also like watching good movies on Netflix.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Janis Danevics – international saxophone player, teacher, and music producer.

This year 2025 I have opportunity to perform in Formula 1 Montreal events for restaurant Pangea. This was something great to experience.
Thanks to restaurant Pangea owner Morris who believed my music and how I can represent his restaurant Pangea for Formula 1 Montreal.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When we are children, we’re often told that the key to success is simply to believe in ourselves and work hard everywhere. But reality teaches us something deeper: effort alone is not enough. Belief matters most when it is tied to a clear vision of what we want to achieve and change.

The foundation of real transformation begins not with blind persistence, but with environment. When you change your surroundings — the people you spend time with, the spaces you inhabit, the influences you allow — you create conditions where your growth becomes natural and sustainable. In the right environment, the hard work no longer feels like a constant struggle; it becomes easier to implement new habits and pursue your goals.

As children, many of us worried too much about how classmates or friends perceived us. That mindset is a trap, because living for external approval keeps you from developing your own identity and unique style. True progress comes from letting go of excessive dependence on others and instead focusing on self-discovery and alignment with your values.

In the end, freedom lies in shaping your environment, trusting your own path, and resisting the pull of external judgment.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Believe in yourself. Fight for your dreams. Go forward with determination toward your goal. Don’t let the criticism or disbelief of others hold you back—because their doubts won’t bring you anything good. If you let disbelief guide you, you’ll end up like everyone else… mediocre. But if you choose belief and persistence, you rise above, and nothing can stop you.”

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The closest people in my life are my parents and my wife, whose support has shaped who I am today. My parents have always encouraged me to follow what makes me truly happy and to put my faith in God, trusting that He will guide me on the right path toward growth and self-improvement. My wife, Gloria, inspires and motivates me every day. She not only believes in me but also helps shape my vision and image. Through her, I have learned the value of patience and consistency, which strengthen the faith that drives me forward. Together, their love and wisdom remind me that success is built on trust in God, perseverance, and the unwavering support of those who believe in me.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Whether you are a musician, doctor or actor, people will not understand when you have to be 100% involved in this profession. It is not at the level of a hobby. In my view, music is more than a hobby. That is why it is important to educate people through music and also heal them spiritually with it because we live in a fast-paced technological era. My legacy will be what I have given on stage or at a private event, as well as by recording a new song, because through it I will give my message. Those who need to understand it will understand.
