We’re looking forward to introducing you to Andres Rodriguez . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Andres, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Going to church and give back to the community!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andres, I was born and raised in Spain. I worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for 21 years, and with a passion for coffee and helping others I decided to open up Gizzi’s Coffee House 20 years ago. We are located in the heart of Delray Beach, Florida and are consistently working to improve service and product quality. I believe what makes us unique is the wide range of organic coffee brews we provide from all around the world, the uplifting and comfortable energy our staff provides, and the amazing location steps away from the beach. We treat our guests like they are our own family and provide support and kindness. We are working on building our marketing team and host group events throughout the season.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Who saw me clearly before I could see myself was God and my family.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self it would be to trust and believe in my journey, and deeply listening to myself and my family.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe the public version of myself is not the genuine me. I say this because there are so many layers to a person that it is very difficult to showcase all of that to the public eye. The public perceives me as tough and put together, but in reality I have a very sensitive and kind heart (I even cry in some parts of movies that would make most people laugh). Not to mention, I have an extremely soft spot for people in need.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I put my all into everything I do, therefore I could give everything my best regardless of the validation of others. Even though it feels nice to be praised ever so often, to me the most important value is that I am doing the right thing.
