We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bruce Mark DC. Check out our conversation below.
Bruce, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I meditate for 20-30 minutes. Then pray for the next 45 minutes. I am Jewish so this is the morning prayer session.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Dr. Bruce Mark. I am a chiropractor who is practicing here in South Florida since 1997. Practice is located in Hollywood Florida. What makes us unique here at Broward medical and rehab the one on one time which is spent with the patient. This begin from the first phone call, which is answered by person. In the consultation, I spend time finding out what your needs are, and what you are unable to do that you would like to do again. I then custom tailor your treatment plan based on my many years of experience.
I played college football at Wake Forest University, where I was a defensive end. Due to position I played I wound up having back pain with a raging pain down the left leg, The team Dr’s and team trainers were on not able to relieve me of my pain. Until I saw a chiropractor who was able to relieve me of my low back pain and leg pain quickly. This is where I became interested in becoming a chiropractor.
Currently, we are working on expanding the services we offer in the office. To infrared light therapy to help with pain, neuropathy along with facial aesthetics.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
A part of me, which has served it’s purpose is fear and procrastination. This is one of the things which I have been using meditation to help me release for me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear which is held me back most in life would be procrastination. Along with fear, am I doing the right thing is this the right decision for me. In other words, I would choose not to make a decision because I always had to do it perfectly. If I couldn’t do it perfectly then how can you do it at all?
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lies my industry tells itself is that chiropractors are equal to MD’s and DO’s.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Interesting is that in the past I have always needed validation for everything I would do. Every decision I would make. This is one way i lived in fear. Now I am writing this questionaire with out asking anyone else to help me. This is taking me out of my comfort zone.
