Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Sheikera “Ginger” Coutain of Parkland

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sheikera “Ginger” Coutain. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Sheikera “Ginger”, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
“My mornings start with a deep sense of gratitude and reverence, as I wake up and give all praise to the Almighty for another day to fulfill my purpose. I believe in starting my day centered, so I take a moment to meditate, allowing myself to connect with my inner strength and peace. I then turn to my scripture, finding wisdom and guidance to fuel my soul. Journaling comes next—where I reflect, express my gratitude, and affirm my intentions. I write my affirmations and set my daily agenda, ensuring every action aligns with my vision of success. It’s my time to ground myself, prepare to conquer the day, and embrace the power of possibility. Each morning, I remind myself that today is another opportunity to make a difference, not just in my own life but in the lives of those around me.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“Hello, I’m Sheikera “Ginger” Coutain, a serial entrepreneur, visionary, and the driving force behind several dynamic businesses. My journey began with a passion for empowering women and making a meaningful impact, and it’s evolved into a global empire that spans luxury real estate, consulting, coaching, executive security, and more. Through brands like Ginger LuxeReal and Aurora Crescent Consulting, I focus on helping women, especially women of color, pivot from corporate careers to entrepreneurial success. My mission is to create spaces where women can break barriers, build wealth, and lead on their own terms.

What sets my work apart is the unwavering belief in the power of transformation and purpose-driven leadership. I’m not just helping clients build businesses—I’m creating a movement that’s reshaping industries. Bosses in Blazers is one of my passion projects, a community for women who are unapologetically ambitious and determined to make their mark on the world. Through this, I’m fostering a global movement of female leaders who are bold, fierce, and fully in charge of their destinies.

Right now, I’m focused on scaling my businesses, expanding my reach globally, and launching the Ginger LuxeReal Wealth and Property Institute, an exclusive educational platform aimed at equipping future moguls with the tools and knowledge to dominate the luxury real estate market. I believe in living a life of abundance and showing others that with the right mindset, any goal is possible.”

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother and GOD

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be this: You are already equipped to conquer the world, and it’s okay to let go of what no longer serves you. There will be moments when the tears fall, and in those moments, know that they are not signs of weakness, but of purification. The pain and loss are just shedding the old to make way for the greatness that has always been within you. People may come and go, and not everyone will understand your journey—but that’s okay, because your purpose is bigger than their perception. Stand firm in your truth, remain beautiful in your authenticity, resilient in your spirit, and bold in your dreams. You are more than enough. Every challenge is preparing you for the woman you are destined to be, and the world needs your light. So shine unapologetically, with grace, courage, and love for yourself—because the best is yet to come.”

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Smart people, despite their intelligence and expertise, are often getting it wrong in one critical area: the fear of failure and the resistance to embracing vulnerability and change.

In today’s world, there is an overemphasis on perfection, being right, and staying within comfortable boundaries. Smart people tend to avoid failure because it threatens their sense of competence and success, but in doing so, they miss the most transformative learning experiences. The reality is, failure is often the most valuable teacher—it strips away the ego and challenges your assumptions. The willingness to embrace vulnerability, take risks, and pivot when necessary is what sets apart the truly successful from the merely competent.

Another area where many smart individuals fall short is in recognizing the importance of emotional intelligence and interpersonal connection. In a world driven by technology and metrics, smart people can sometimes become too focused on logic and data, forgetting that success is often built on relationships, collaboration, and understanding people on a deeper level. Leading with empathy, being able to relate to others, and building strong, authentic networks are what truly sustain long-term success.

Lastly, resisting change can be a downfall. The pace of the world is accelerating, and smart people who rely solely on their expertise or past successes may miss new opportunities. The smartest leaders are not the ones who know everything—they’re the ones who are open to learning, adapting, and innovating, no matter how much experience they have.

So, the real issue isn’t a lack of intelligence; it’s the failure to stay humble, stay open, and be willing to evolve. Intelligence, without the courage to embrace uncertainty and vulnerability, can become a barrier instead of an asset.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
That’s a powerful question, and I truly believe the answer lies in the essence of who you are. If you were to lay down your name, your role, and your possessions, what would remain is the core of your authenticity—your spirit, your values, and the impact you’ve had on others.

What would remain is your legacy. It’s the energy you put into the world, the way you uplift others, and the purpose you infuse into everything you do. It’s the resilience that gets you back up when life knocks you down, the unwavering belief that your greatness is unstoppable. It’s the authenticity you carry in every room, every conversation, every venture you embark upon.

At the end of the day, it’s not the titles or the material things that define you—it’s the energy you leave behind, the lives you’ve touched, and the courage with which you walked through this world. The truth is, there is no replica of you—your essence is one of a kind. That is your true value and the thing that will remain long after everything else is gone.
