Miranda Mojena shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Miranda, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
First and foremost, I like to begin my day with journaling and coffee. I jot down dreams I previously had and or ideas that I could apply to some of my recent works. I also journal and plan my day ahead so that I can make the best use of my time and keep focused on tasks.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a visual artist working with themes of magic, spiritualism and occult . Often my works aim to convey a deep appreciation for detail as well as perspective. Working to depict a sense of greatness and magic within the everyday nature and found objects.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with Spirituality changed how I see myself as well as others. There is attention to things that would often go unnoticed and a sense of never ending inspiration that can stem from the most seemingly simple of things. It has greatly influenced my practice as an artist.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
To be disciplined when no one is watching and live your best life regardless. When suffering only you can ease your mind best . Suffering is often very lonely in rooms filled with people, very cold and very chaotic at a brief glance , but when tended to it can heal like nothing else can. Peace allows you to never truly feel alone with yourself.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The art industry often paints success as something very linear, when in reality ones very definition of success can mean so much more.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m making art , the world is filled with so much noise and is so fast paced, inducing stress and anxiety at every turn. When making art I can just ease my mind , have the conversations to be never had aloud and focus on what truly matters to me. Art is also something I link very closely to spirituality, many of my works find their inspiration from spiritualism.
