An Inspired Chat with Leah Logue of Palm Beach

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Leah Logue. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Leah, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity above everything!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a second generation South Floridian, born and raised in Palm Beach County and grew up on Florida sunshine and vitamin sea. These South Florida roots inspired my “Pop of Coastal” design, merging modern decor with coastal accents. With an appreciation of this aesthetic in South Florida, I started an interior design business, Logue Decorators, to help clients achieve their design goals. Over the years of renovating I’ve built a loyal team of skilled craftsman that help make my visions come to life. I currently have projects from Palm Beach to Boca Raton, and my clients range from celebrities, sports athletes, and business moguls. I love being able to create spaces that bring people happiness, and feel grateful to call this my ‘job’.

I love to combine obvious and intentional decor with subtle and thoughtful details that are often overlooked, but when you notice them you can really appreciate the space altogether. I like to invoke the initial ‘wow’ moment when you enter a room, but also the ‘aha’ moments as the little details reveal themselves as part of the big picture. I also really enjoy a theme, and will embrace it in unexpected ways to build a playful or whimsical space, often around an accent pillow, wallpaper or accessory that I’m inspired by.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Getting diagnosed with Stage 4 Terminal Cancer

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
In March I was diagnosed with Terminal Metastatic Colon Cancer that spread to my pelvis, lymph nodes, abdominal wall, and over 50% of my liver. I had 2 to 6 months to live without treatment. I was told my condition was “very bad”, chemo was my only option but it would only prolong my life, and I’d eventually die from liver failure.

I couldn’t accept “chemo until it kills me”, so I changed my life radically. I became consumed with researching any glimpse of hope of survival, seeking out survivors, functional med doctors, and oncologists. While chemo wasn’t a cure, I decided that, in conjunction with my holistic treatments, it was my best chance of survival.

The doctors initially dismissed my alt treatments, but after only 3 months and 6 rounds of chemo, they are in awe at my results. And I am in awe of our body’s ability to heal itself. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for my progress and the immense support I’ve received. Now, in less than 100 days, my cancer markers are in normal range and I’ve had minimal side effects. My doctors “have never seen anything like it”. While I’m still fighting, I want to inspire and bring hope to others.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Integrity, loyalty, and love!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I was told I had only months left, and I stopped a lot of things immediately. I stopped worrying about “the little things” and shifted my focus on finding gratitude in the little things. Removing any stress from my life, or anything that didn’t serve me. I focused all of my energy on healing and experiences that bring me joy; traveling, working, and most importantly spending time with the people that I love.
